Like, you can definitely go play football/baseball/hockey/whatever irl, but you have to coordinate a schedule with a bunch of other people, have access to the space to do it in, as well deal with any number of other variables like physical injuries, inclement weather, etc. Where as someone who is watching a streamer is probably watching them on the device they could be playing the game with. There are way fewer barriers involved Of course not every streamer is highly skilled at games, but when I watch streaming its to see a world record set, to watch someone play a game blind folded, or something else that requires skill I'll never have.
