Ah, Bronn guess I considered him counted for, for some reason. In any case, Solf said two of the top eight weren't guessed by the first 4 predictions. So Davos and Bronn are gonna be in the top 3 supporting, so Varys probably will not.

Well, then I'll be very, very interested to see who is among your remaining characters beside Varys, Joffrey, Arya, Davos and Tyrion. I honestly have no idea who is left that is a top character in your opinion. Is it Rickon? The guy that pointing out how little Sam knows Craster's daughter ( I dun think he has a name)? Drogon? Grey Wind?

My biggest surprise as far as main/supporting goes is Renly counting as main. He had what, 6 scenes all season? I know he's a King, but so's a certain Supporting Character (or 2)...

This, though looking at all the people that Samwell and Hot Pie managed to beat is pretty surprising too.

1. You severely underestimate Sansa. Cersei stopped controlling her because the shine wore off for Sansa. After your betrothed shows you your dad's head, the puppy love dies.

I wasn't talking bout Joffrey, i was talking about Cersei. Sansa liked and looked up too Cersei in her own right. it wasn't Joffrey that Sansa ratted Ned out too.

2. King Joffrey>Queen Regent. He could have her slapped in public if he wanted to. Plus, if she corrects him in public that would COMPLETELY undermine him in front of his people. Be smart here. This is a terrible point.

No. Queen Regent rules the kingdom until the heir is age. Period. And yeah, she'd undermine him and stopped a war they were losing and gotten Jaime back doing so.

I was going to keep responding but each of your points was successfully worse than the last. You're not dumb, but you seem to lack an understanding of character motivations.

If you say so. Cersei wants to protect her children, be with Jaime and rule the kingdom, as i see it. Losing the war and the lot of them getting thrown on a pyre by Stannis seems detrimental to this.

Cersei is horrible at the game.

1. Sansa looks up to Cersei as a rolemodel even after Ned was imprisoned. She doesn't anymore for no other reason then Cersei decided to give up on trying to control her that way. This is not a disadvantage.
2. Cersei is the Queen-Regent, the lawful ruler on the realm. She could not stop Joffrey, a boy she had known his entire life from making the call tokill Ned, this was her fault. Entirely. She has all power she required to stop him but as Tyrion says, Joff knows she won't do **** against him.
3. Barristan is the last real hero of the Seven Kingdoms. The people look up to him. Cersei decided to break the rules and have him dismissed for no real benefit. And then he declared against them in the middle of the thronerookm and escaped the city.
4. Tyrion NEVER wanted Joffrey dead. Cersei refuses to understand this and for the sake of her children decides to kill him when he is trying to save the city.
5. Joffrey was in minimal danger on the wall of the city. Having him get scurried off to his bedroom greatly increased the possibility that thecity might fall.

Cersei has ruthlessness, no enemy she has her sights on has much hope of success while she's around because she'll go to no lengths to take them down no matter how suicidally stupid it is when looking at her own interests. Luckily she can get away with it because Tywin, Tyrion and (to a certain degree) Petyr are still looking out for her.

That said, I fully consider this to be a thankless role. I don’t exactly like or hate Brienne either way in the books – I like the idea behind this character, but I still don’t really care for her. She’s complex and believable, sure, but she doesn’t really evolve in a particularly compelling way. Given that she’s not shown to be prone to complex emotions or deeply-ingrained character flaws, it’s hard to really make this character stand out (aside from being 7-feet tall, that is).

Gotta disagree with there. Brienne is basically Sansa, if she had the Sandor's ugliness and strength. In the books she had never killed before she hits the road with Jaime and she has all kinds of romantic notions of knights in her head. Course in the books, Jaime wasn't around all that much for the first two books, his trolling Westeros attidute that the TV series empathises is primarily derived from his interactions with Brienne. In the show that's well trodded territory by now and Brienne is more set up as the perfect way to throw his notions in his face instead. And a kickass one-woman killing machine in addition.

Well, the big question is whether Joffrey o Tywin is counted as our fifth main character. If it's Joffrey, then I got my 5 mains correct. But 2 of the remaining weren't guessed by the first 4 predictions, and Tywin isn't among my top 3 supporting so unless Tywin is lower then third supporting, which i dare not hope for I'll get 5/8.

If Tywin is the main then Eeeevil gets 5/8, 6/8 possibly if Joff ain't among the top three supporting.

LordoftheMorons looks good having named six of the eight, though Joffrey/Tywin is in the wrong category.

Kaxon might very well name 5/8, Rex 6/8. Between that and the bonus points for the correct positions anyone could still take it.

Well I guess if Renly bumped Stannis from the main character list, then he's gonna be a pick for top 3 supporting. And the other one is Sansa.

But I disagree about Renly, I agree that Genthin puts in a convincing performance, but I did not get that awkwardness in this season.

At the tourney, Brienne and Loras are looking at Catelyn disapprovingly, Loras first tells us they're too important to be addressed by anyone other then Robb himself and then selfimportantly asks her if Tywin Lannister has been marshed on yet, Catelyn shots him down both times, Brienne is giving her flake about not adressing Renly properly, Margeary is giving Catelyn some obviously false courtesies about her husband, Renly doesn't go for any of this bullcrap. He's the only one with the correct response to her arrival and takes her aside so they can talk in earnest. At the Stannis meeting, while I miss the peach, the more important part is the way Renly tells Stannis that nobody wants him for his king, he's not joking, he's not playing, he's superserious.

Then at his death scene, he's saying how he wants to make peace with Robb, restore the friendship between their houses and he's willing to let Robb keep his King in the North title to do it(!!!)

There are three times Renly gets upset, when Catelyn gets dismissive of his army calling them the knights of summer, when he talks with Littlefinger (he's perhaps the most effective in the show in cutting through his bull****) and when he's just failed to talk sense into his brother. Which again, are the right things to be upset about.

So why aren't we rooting for this guy other then that he's really gay (and I mean still kinda thinks his wife has cooties kinda gay) and putting him on the throne will obiviously involve killing of the rest of Baratheon male line, thus creating a big problem? I mean that's still a valid argument against him but it's suppose to be much more then that.

Well from season 1, we know why, first of all, he doesn't care about killing kids, he's being gauded into all this by Loras and at the end of the day while he looks like Robert, on the inside he's a politician like Varys, Littlefinger and Cersei rather then a soldier like Ned, Robert and Stannis.

Which is all okay for a supporting character but if I have to grade him as Season 2 main character then I feel his character portrayal is incomplete. He really seems right for the part of king outside of the bedroom, and even Tywin is ruled by his wife in the bedroom.

i can't tell them apart, was that the handmaiden she was close with (the one who was helping her feed the dragons when they first got to qarth) or the one that was watching them and being all snooty

i assume the one she was close with was the one that was dead when she discovered the dragons were gone?

No, this is the one that taught her how to screw, gave Viserys a good time and took an interest in her dragons. The other one was the one that was found dead.

Yeah, Martin promises to give Osha a lot more interesting material after being inspired by Natalie's performance. I think the tv series gives us too much Osha though, at the cost of Bran.

I am struggling to find a single weak point in this episode. Incredible. Definitely edges out Baelor for best episode of the series. I just cannot believe that what I just saw was TV.

--> The knight who struck Tyrion was ser Mandon Moore, a member of the Kingsguard. I don't think he's been mentioned yet in the series - in order to avoid potential future spoilers, I'm going to cut it there, however. You'll have to figure out the rest on your own.

--> Spoiler-free background on the Rains of Castamere (which I've hid in case people don't like background info on events that transpired before the beginning of the series): when Tywin Lannister was a teenager, two rivals houses decided to rebel against House Lannister, led at the time by Tytos Lannister, Tywin's father. These two houses were respectively House Tarbeck of Tarbeck Hall and House Reyne of Castamere. Tywin - still a teenager - led a retaliatory attack against both houses. Not only did he win, he also exterminated the whole Reyne/Tarbeck families. To a man. House Tarbeck and House Reyne were completely extinguished. A few years later, when another lord grew truculent with House Lannister, Tywin did not send him a message, but a minstrel, who sang 'The Rains of Castamere' to him. The lord did not grow truculent ever again. Basically, it's the "Don't **** with Tywin Lannister" (or with House Lannister) theme song. Aside from that, I would strongly, strongly advise against googling the song. Or even glancing at a single Youtube comment. This thing is a minefield for spoilers.

--> Lena Headey was fantastic. Jack Gleeson was wonderful (that look of his when he decides to retreat to the Red Keep - fully aware that he's a coward and ashamed of it... brilliant!). Sophie Turner definitely raised her game for the second season - a pity for her that she plays a relatively unlikeable character, bc she's doing a good job with the role! Dinklage was, as usual, exceedingly good - and I really like Dillane and Cunningham's take on their respective characters. Hell, even Shae managed to impress me this ep (which is a first, I believe)! It was just fantastic!

--> We now know where Tyrion inherited his swagger. The way Tywin just strolled in the throne room was glorious!

They didn't so much rebel as they kept borrowing gold and refused to pay Tytos back and when Tytos went to Castamere to offer them one of his children (maybe Tywin specifically)'s hands in matrimony they laughed in their faces and refused. Then Tytos died and Tywin made an example of them so no one would think to laugh at the Lannisters anymore.
