Im having a lot of fun with Machamp right now. I feel great in the jungle, reasonably tanky and like I can 1v1 anybody. Submission is an awesome escape, engage, CC. Pretty good burst if I need to try to steal Zapdos, too.

I really wish the game had a better tutorial for how to play around Zapdos. The tutorial shows both teams cooperating to defeat Zapdos and it shows.

Finally got a group with the lead to camp the brush to Zapdos. But after getting a pick, instead of pushing the other team away, they all run off to do Zapdos. Which leads to a Snorlax walking up, stealing Zapdos. And then game over for no reason. There just isn't a tutorial for people on how not to throw the game. They just know they really want to attack Zapdos.

Mostly because of all of the PPE I have to wear in the isolation rooms. If it gets really bad again and outpatient services need to be halted, I'll probably get furloughed again.

@MajinZidane can we get the school nurse's opinion on 7-day fasts?

Sure! I'm not a nurse, though.

I think the trend over the last few years with "cleanses" is a bunch of buzz words meant to draw people in. There can be positive effects to them, but anything you read talking about "toxins" and the like is just more buzz words. Calorie restriction, cutting out carbs/sugar, or feeling good about the achievement/discipline you demonstrated are more positively impactful on your overall health.

I wouldn't recommend a 7-day water fast. All conventional evidence supports lifestyle change over something like this. Will you lose weight? Yes. But it isn't sustainable and it is possibly risky on your body.

Intermittent fasting is legit, tho. If you really want to try this, just do a 24 hour water fast. If you are really dead-set on attempting a multi-day water fast, you should supplement with appropriate vitamins and electrolytes and should also build up towards it with multiple shorter duration water fasts first. But I still think you're just better off with IF and lifestyle change.

@neoneaper : excellent advice. The two jobs are different roles that I really need to consider. If Im honest with myself, I prefer the type of work with Job 1. I do enjoy the work with Job 2 and could grow to enjoy it more with more experience.

I have had a 40 minute commute and I really dont like it. Im only entertaining it because Im planning on moving within the next year anyway. Im single with no kids, its fairly easy for me to move to a different city.

My biggest holdup is that Job 2 is the place Ive always wanted to work making way more money at first. Its also difficult to pass on a full time position. If Job 2 doesnt hire me after the temp period, I need to find a new job. Granted, there is potential to work contingent at multiple hospitals on an as needed basis, which is somewhat easier to find positions for.

Can you provide some more detail as to the difference between medium and high "productivity requirements"? Like do you anticipate Job 2 will be easier/less stressful because of it?

@CaptainOfCrush : I think that Job 2 will be somewhat less stressful with more understanding provided from colleagues and managers regarding level of productivity. I know that with Job 1, there are meetings to ensure you are hitting production targets and a constant reminder to make sure you pump out enough output. I anticipate Job 2 will have less of that.

Job 2 isnt predatory, its working contingent at a prestigious hospital in my area. PRN jobs are just like this, you work as needed for a much higher salary. There is an initial period where they would want me daily, but after that they wont have a daily need for me. Its probably covering for a medical leave or maternity leave.

There is no guarantee of any full time position in the future, but this hospital always seems to hire from within. I was a clinical student there, which is why they are looking at me now. @Bane_Of_Despair

I wont be able to roll Job 2 into a full time salary at this rate. I would probably make like $30-$33 an hour entry level starting (they may offer more than entry level) but with the great benefits package. What do you mean by if I dont need the money at all @masterplum ?

Job 2:

$45 per hour. Five 8 hour shifts, weekdays with potential to work weekend days. No benefits, no health insurance. 40 minute commute. Full-time, temporary position for 3+ months, then transition to working continent/as needed (unsure of weekly hours associated after initial 3 month period). Priority to acquire a full-time job at this institution, which is well-known for good benefits/compensation. Medium productivity requirements.

I can provide more details if you're familiar with healthcare/hospital careers and have more questions, and even more details if you're familiar with occupational therapy and have more questions. I'm also not married to my current location as I'm looking for a house right now.

1) Hearthstone
Played with: once a month with one of my best friends

This game is easily the best "multiplayer" experience I've ever had, but not in the way that you think. Over the last 7 or so years, I've met up with a good friend of mine once a month to hangout and play Hearthstone. We pick up takeout, have a few drinks, and play Hearthstone and it almost feels like I'm a kid again. We exclusively play arena mode, draft a deck together, and play every turn together with each of us weighing in to make a decision. We're not technically both playing, but it's 100% collaborative and one of my favorite nights of the month. We add fun little games like if we draft a legendary we take a shot, or if we call out a specific RNG sequence and it happens we take a shot. I don't play any other game modes in Hearthstone and don't spend any money on it, putting all of our gold into arenas and completing a few years of quests has been plenty. In the last 7 years of playing Arena 1+ times a month, we have managed to get 12 wins together 2 times. That's it! I don't even think we're particularly bad, but I still very fondly recall both of those nights and how good it felt to run the gauntlet with my buddy. Historically, our favorite classes to draft: Mage, Priest, Paladin. He really dislikes Hunter and I'm not a big fan of Rogue. I think that our all time favorite card to draft is Flamestrike, as boring as that sounds. Mind Control is up there, too.

Okay, so here are a couple more hints:
  • It's a 1v1 game that you can play online.
  • It's a game where a second person can be sitting next to you, watching you play, and help you make decisions. They can be basically playing with you without ever touching anything.

2) Halo: Combat Evolved
Played with: friends growing up via system-link, co-operative with my brother and other friends, 1v1 with a longtime friend

I used to play 4 xbox system linked in different rooms of a house with a bunch of guys on various slayer and team slayer maps. It was awesome. Definitely one of my best memories of playing games growing up as a kid. I also used to play the game very often 1v1 with my best friend in high school when we hung out every weekend. He and I even got into playing Halo 1 system linked online to give me some of my first every online multiplayer experiences. I still remember a lot of hours spent on Blood Gulch and Hang 'Em High. In high school debate class, I was in a group of 4 and we got to pick any topic we wanted to debate; naturally, we selected the topic Halo 2 > Halo. My group simply had to prove that Halo was just as good as if not better than Halo 2, which was easy enough. Getting four different Xboxes set up in a single house and playing with a bunch of people was such a novel, incredible experience. At the time, online gaming didn't exist, or it barely did. I had never experienced something similar to it. But it was so much fun. I don't think we ever had a full 16 people playing, and 4 on one single xbox was annoying, anyway. I think the most we were getting was 2 on each Xbox total, so the game nights would range from between 7-9 people. Co-operative mode was also fun, too. While a very different experience, going through the campaign was a lot more relaxing, but still pretty fun.

3) Guitar Hero and Rock Band (serires)
Played with: friends growing up, still playing with friends now

This game was a huge part of my young adulthood. I used to play this game all of the time with friends while having parties. It was blast; whoever is singing gets to pick the song, everyone else plays an instrument if they want to, and you just play. Gotta turn on no-fail modes so everyone just has a good time, though. I used to play guitar/bass on expert, except for the super challenging songs. I could get by with drums on hard. Drums were fun, but the bass pedal on higher difficulties just made it so much less fun. I think one of the newer games lets you complete ignore the bass pedal on expert, which is pretty cool. I think that my best feat playing this game was finishing Green Grass and High Tides on expert without failing on guitar. But the most fun was picking my favorite songs and singing with 3 friends. I've played this game a few times every year, as recently as last Saturday. I don't try to play on expert anymore, though. I've lost the ability to beat songs on that difficulty, unfortunately. I think that my favorite thing to do nowadays, and really it has been for a long time, is to sing. When we play now, it's basically everyone takes turns on every instrument so everyone sings. Rock Band is basically just karaoke with extra steps, but man is it fun. What's your favorite song to sing when you play Rock Band?

4) Halo 2
Played with: my brother, friends growing up online

My first actual online experience. I was always awful at this game in terms of ELO ranking, but meeting up with my friends online to play after school is one of my cherished memories. While I had pretty good map awareness after playing so much, I have pretty mediocre execution. Still a great time. I used to know where every weapon spawned, how many seconds were between each spawn so I would be ready to get a fresh rocket launcher right on the dot. When I wasn't timing the weapon spawns, it was all about the plasma pistol and battle rifle, aka "noob combo." I think my favorite map was either Ivory Tower or Lockout. While I wasn't ever really good at Slayer, I was at least serviceable in the objective matchups. I think my favorite game mode was CTF, especially on the enormous maps. There isn't a much more rewarding feeling than sneaking into the enemy base, stealing the flag, and sneaking out before they stop you and hopping on a vehicle to drive away to safety. To this day, I still remember the one game I ever had a kill streak of 30 games. It was king of the hill and my team easily lost because I did not try to win the match, I just tried to protect my kill streak once I reached a rampage. I just looked it up: 30 kills in a row is called Invincible. In order to achieve this feat, I heavily utilize rocket launchers and sniper rifles while people who were actually trying to win tried to gain time inside of the objective.

5) Super Smash Brothers: Melee
Played with: friends growing up, my longtime friend.

I never played this game competitively, but it didn't matter. I played it SO much growing up with my brother and family, and even years later would play the game all of the time with a buddy 1v1. We were very evenly matched, he was slightly better, but it was good times. My Jigglypuff and Game and Watch versus his Marth. We played this game together for years, well into the Wii lifespan and neither of us had a Wii U. Every so often, we will get together and play the Switch SSB game, but it isn't the same. I remember trying to play Jigglypuff in SSBs after Melee, and I've never felt like she was any good since those days. I don't know if it's lame or not, but my buddy and I always played with no items. Actually, I think most of my games of Melee were with items turned off.
