His voice doesn't even come close to bringing the level of emotion of the original which wouldn't necessarily be such a problem if he wasn't trying to imitate the originals (on all three of these songs) so closely. Do people love it because it's showing a tender side to this band, perhaps? but to me it comes across as insincere and pointless. I'm not very familiar with Disturbed's work but that song in particular seems to not be playing to their strengths at all. Land of Confusion is okay for what it is, I guess, and the U2 cover suffers from the same problems as The Sound of Silence to me but fares a bit better for whatever reason. I haven't listened to much of this genre so I'm a bit surprised by how much I enjoyed these. I usually don't start with longish songs when listening to an artist for the first time but there was no issue here (cute how you put a song with 5 minutes of silence at the end). Very atmospheric and spacey. These are all good. There's a decent chance I could probably really like this band if I listened to more of them. Album recommendation? Mesmer I > Dark Matter > Glass Arm Shattering |

Well I like this way more than the other metal I've listened to in this topic. The instrumentals are way more listenable to me. I like it, it sounds kinda raw and not like cheesy power whatever. The vocals are more interesting and seem more varied to me as well. I like the choruses too especially on the first two songs. Maybe I have a harder time being turned off if it's in another language (I know the first song is in English). Relistening to the second song actually and it's pretty awesome.
