At that point, I no longer care about the mystery because I'm frustrated with Trucy and Lamiroir, not to mention the video tape itself. --- |

| Leonhart4 05/30/18 10:01:50 PM #11 | Yeah, literally the only reason to suspect Machi at all is that he could fit in the air vent, and that's the only argument the prosecution ever really presents. He could not have performed any other aspect of the crime, at least not without an accomplice. Like I said before though, Klavier wisely just keeps his mouth shut through most of day 1 because apparently nobody else noticed that. The most laughable part is when they start wondering if Machi is an undercover agent. My head canon has been that Machi is this superhuman specimen that everyone in AJ is aware of but they just forgot to inform the player about it. --- |

AJ's treatment of magic as if it's the most sacred thing in the world is one of its most baffling aspects to me. I literally started cheering in 6-2 when Trucy decided telling Apollo the truth of how the trick works is more important than guarding her trade secret. --- |

The case against Machi might be the flimsiest one in the entire series and Apollo can't punch any holes in it and repeatedly draws the wrong conclusions. That's kind of the story of 4-3. It has good ideas but undermines itself on a regular basis. --- |

I don't know that Gumshoe would beat Maya by total textbox count either. I don't think the disparity would be that big to let him catch her. I don't think his line count in AAI2 is going to be very high, and his role in AJ is pretty small. Then he'll be completely done and Maya will still have a few cases left. --- |

Also forgot to mention I did the Star Door that explains what Cassius was doing during FC, which was awesome enough to get him raised to max threat level in Erebonia, apparently. I also finished the last Sun Door and bested all four difficulties. Found a Star Door that will only open after I've finished all the others, so this better be good. I'm assuming the last Moon or Star Door will feature Agate since he hasn't had one yet. Also, there's an achievement for getting all the chests before the final chapter, but the total number is clearly wrong since I got it with chests to spare! --- |

He just doesn't really know how to handle it more than anything else. And yes, the trajectory of the game changes once the main villain gets involved. That tends to happen. FFVII is a totally different game once Sephiroth shows up and you leave Midgar, too. --- |

I can't speak for Leonhart but mine change pretty drastically when I go back through the series. he's done it so many times that it's probably pretty set in stone. There's always a character or two I seem to like more after a replay, like Ini and Marshall have both climbed up in my estimation over the years. There's still some room for fluctuation with the newer games simply because I'm not as intimately familiar with them yet. Characters usually only go up for me though. It's pretty rare for one to take a dive. --- |
