The best way to prevent people from getting long covid is to actively try to prevent people from getting covid in the first place rather than saying we should go stop fear mongering by actively reminding people that covid is still very prevalent.

Going back to no masks, no distancing, and no occupancy restrictions is irresponsible.
People should still be regularly washing their hands, get the vaccines/boosters, leave a respectful distance with others, etc.
Stores and restaurants should keep up the barriers between tables and between the cashiers and customers.

Making sure people are aware that this is still ongoing, that the vaccine isn't fool proof, that long covid is a massive concern, that being knowledgeable of what's going of is important: that's not fear mongering.
It's social responsibility.
Putting your head in the sand and saying "oh well we need to live with it" feels disingenuous and insulting when so many are still dying and experiencing lifelong issues.

The last girl I slept with had covid before vaccines, granted, in summer 2020, but she still has lingering anemia and lung issues, has to sleep on her back at night because on her side it's hard to breathe. Fun!
