Theoretically I might have enough to take on Ifrit with a magic team (Strago chain, Strago Rydia and Arc awakenings). But considering how annoyingly he was I thinking I'll wait a bit longer.

Oh, yeah, I was confused. There are going to be plenty of good options before then. Orlandu's is one, especially if you get any of his new gear with en-element. Or Lightning (or Serah/Fang) for the XIII Dreambreaker which should be about 4 weeks after Tactics.

If you're not sure then I'd save until you need it. Otherwise you might regret using your last 250 if you want something else. Also Ramza's doesn't seem all that great to me since it's only 4 hits with a 1.0 multiplier, although I could be wrong about it

Sephiroth's seems really strong but since I just finished Alexander it's not useful for a while. When VII Dreambreaker rolls around I'm grabbing Cloud's first because his existing abilities are so bad.

Only that character can use it. But they're more powerful than regular 6* abilities (some more than others) and they also take fewer crystals to hone.

Oh, I never thought about typed fastcast. I will still wait until I find a fight where I need it, but that and building chain are a good reason to use it. I'm at 6/8 omegas so I think I have all the EX lenses. I have 938 with two HAs already made (Squall and Beatrix). Waiting on the last 2 because dark is annoying with the status effects, and I need to improve my holy team.

Do you think it's worth it? I think I'm saving my sapphires for now, I'm pretty sure I want to grab Orlandu's, and then whatever I need for specific fights with a focus on Dreambreakers.

I would say definitely not worth doing. I'm not even so sure the awakening one is worth doing at this point but awakenings are way better than arcanes.

I ended up pulling once on IX's first event banner before it disappeared and got burned (Eiko LM and USB).

I wish I had that USB, regenga and hcq2 would both be great for the dreambreaker. True you need other DPS soul breaks to get a clear though.

Some of the Omega fights are a bit frustrating, but I'm loving the rewards. 5 down so far. Holy weak is going to be the worst one for me, I probably need to spend money to get Ramza's chain.

I didn't realize the IX event was ending... I really wished I could do another pull but I'm too broke... after this selection banner I'll be down to 41 mythril.

Glad we finally get Elemental Destruction with basically no fanfare. Finally more HAs!

I picked up Sephiroth's USB1 with lenses and finally got my first Alexander kill. I had one round here he was hitting for 60k per hit of Demon's Cross which was pretty cool, but that dropped off substantially after Alexander used Sacred Aegis.

Also I really hate the heavy combat combo because the 5* ability is so bad. I finally realized I can just use Darkness Swing with no buildup. 4 hits of 1.0 isn't that bad, it's the same damage as Healing Smite (without the heal) and only a little worse than Snowspell Strike. It's definitely not great but Cloud can do enough with it to lower the holy level in phase 1.

Yeah, that part is weird. Also I really wonder why we haven't heard anything about Prismatic Omega yet. The thread about it in JP was posted 7 months ago so we should have heard something by now.

Dreambreaker progress: I got him down to 12.x% today. I'm enjoying this fight more than most of the 6* magicite since it doesn't have any of the super annoying gimmicks, it's just hard as hell. I need to learn to navigate phase 3, but it's tough with the massive damage reduction from rage and the fact that my awakenings are used up early in phase 3.

One of my favorite things about this fight is that I've learned about some tools I never even knew I had. The boss keeps using sap so I realized Eiko's glint with mirror image can block it. But the glint only has 3 uses and you get sapped 5 times so I had to look farther and I noticed that Freya's default SB gives party low regen. So now I'm using that!

My current strategy is to use reraise on slot 3 and then finish phase 2 before the death on slots 2&4. But that does require me to use up my firepower going into phase 2 and makes phase 3 pretty tough. My next step is probably to get Beatrix's HA since I really need a better way to break rage in phase 3.

The event one is definitely weaker, it's a d300 fight when 5* magicite is d400. On the other hand, the event Hades is harder than the 4* magicite version.

Yeah, I meant it doesn't hurt to pull now because getting both is good.

I guess I should make Beatrix's HA too? I've been a little skeptical of it because it doesn't boost your chain count at all... and lenses+ are still pretty scarce. I'll probably try Dreambreaker Deathgaze a few more times first and see if it'll help... now that we've had IX LotR and I can invest some more t2 and t3 lenses.

Well, if you have one I think it's still useful to have the other, because just one won't last through the Dreambreaker fight.

I really want to do another pull on the IX banner but my mythril is so low and there are so many good banners. But the next IX event is so far away, and the banner is worse.

I got Kimahri's awakening... which is my 4th physical water awakening in the realm. Not sure whether I will end up being able to fit it on my team, but maybe.

On XIII I got Fang G+, on XII I got Fran Awakening and Balthier AOSB. The awakening will probably help a lot with Dreambreaker someday.

I'm slowly getting better at the Dreambreaker Deathgaze fight. I realized that Eiko's glint (which I have) can block the sap attacks which helps a LOT. I was about .2 seconds from ending phase 2 before he uses death on slots 2 and 4, only because I was dumb and didn't refresh my chain soon enough. Got to 28.3% anyway, so I can definitely do better, but I don't think I have the staying power to finish phase 3 since my awakenings are basically done at that point.

Got Yda's awakening, first good pull on the ROP.

Today I finally finished off my 4 Valefor kills, and used break cheese to get my Dream breaker mastery. I want to work on the Dream Breaker but I really need a USB for Freya (she has her Awakening and nothing else) and I don't want to spend lenses until after the ROP pull. Same thing with Sephiroth's USB1 for Alexander.

I got Aranea's LMR on the ROP. I'm trying to save my tickets until after fest... XV is the best banner for me right now by a lot, but I don't actually need XV stuff for anything urgent (would help with 6* physical Fire and magical Water clears) and one of the best fest banners in JP had Noctis and Lunafreya syncs along with Lightning's. So I want to see if we get that and draw there before spending tickets.

I'm finding Alexander's mechanics pretty annoying TBH. My damage output in phase 2 isn't that great (especially with the inconveniently timed diffuse) so I've had multiple wipes due to the targetting gimmick and due to holy level getting too high without any 30k attacks. It seems like stacking infuse for Seph would make it a bit easier but I don't know if using his USB1 is worth the bars it takes...

On my first try against Deathgaze I got him below 50%. I actually feel like I might be able to do it with what I have. The full break effect is pretty annoying though - I was hoping Quina's stacking 50% attack buffs (USB and Awakening) would be enough to keep attack decently high, but the debuff was very noticable. I'd hate to replace Quina with Tyro since I actually have good stuff for Quina... if anyone, the character I'd want to replace is Eiko since I don't have her USB4 to counter poison.

Is it the holy level thing? On my first try I got ejected right before I was about to start going to town, because I didn't realize his holy level starts at 3. I might need to use an OSB here to control holy level.

OMG... I figured since I had 7 tickets and I love IX I could afford to do a couple realm draws even though the odds on the banner aren't great for me. On my second pull I got this:

That's basically my top 3 items on the banner in one pull: Zidane awakening, Vivi Awakening 2 (I already have his first one) and Quina awakening. I might have to give this Phantasm a serious attempt now (although without Beatrix sync or honed awakenings I think it's still impossible)

Anyone know how you increase your link percentage thing and how that works? That part I didn't really get.

I think I got around 26k tier 2 lenses and 15.5k tier 3 lenses for free so that was pretty nice.

Yeah, my team is Tyro/Elarra/Seph/Seifer/Cloud. I have Sephiroth USB/AASB combo, Seifer Chain/AASB, and Cloud with just USB1 and dark USB. Not that strong of a team but if he's as easy as they say it should be enough.

I will probably do just one pull on the IX banner because my mythril is low (183) but I love IX and it would be nice to be able to do the Phantasm (although I doubt I will)

I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've ever had a new event, new record dungeons, and new realm dungeons all on the same day. Glad we have some stuff to keep us busy for a little while.

If it was in the last maintenance maybe we'll get it this week? That would be cool. I didn't see any date datamined though. Also I'd expect ROP to start before Wednesday if we're going to stick to our usual Fest schedule starting on the 26th.

12 seconds is fast, I was running around 21 but I had Tyro and Elarra in the party. And I haven't gotten Taboo Raid yet because I didn't need it.

Anyway, I finally got my first Valefor kill! It's an annoying fight because it's so long and I don't have any stacking en-ice for Celes. Not as difficult as Ifrit for sure, but still annoying.

Prismatic Omega will be nice to give us something to do, and I definitely want the lenses+. Although I don't really need any HAs right now, but that will probably change. And they're just cool. I guess the next one I get will probably be physical holy because Aegis Strike isn't that good... not sure if it will be Beatrix, Celes, or maybe Orlandu's.

Yeah, this definitely feels like a lull. I still have Valefor but aside from that I'm caught up on every other bit of content. Hopefully next month will get more interesting with the fest.

Anything that reduces the chance of getting status afflictions can at least go in the vault, if not get sharded. High end bosses that use status effects always hit automatically.

If you have the tools, Shiva is the easiest 6*. Titan is second.

It's been too long since I did Odin for me to remember the relative difficulty, but in general they're easier, but there's more time pressure in phase 3 to finish him off, so you want to make sure you can unleash plenty of firepower at the end.

Oh hey, finally sub-30ed my final torment, FF I. No sync, no awakening, just two USBs. I did use two realm artifacts and unlocked record board strength bonuses for WOL and Master Monk.

WOL - Healing Smite, USB2, AOSB
Master - Ironfist Earth, SSB
Sarah - Curada, bUSB
Wol - 5* heavy dark, BSB
Garland - Demon's Cross, BSB2

That was pretty fun. Master was surprisingly decent with just his SSB - Sarah's brave gives party IC1, Master uses his SSB which gives him IC2, so he got lots of turns.

I'm still debating my pick. Seifer is the "right" pick because it gives me a chain holder with an awakening to go along with Seph, and then I draw on next week's IV banner and hopefully have DK Cecil for my third character for Alexander. Only problem is I just don't like Seifer. But then I would have to pretty much go all in on the Shadow banner and skip that great IV banner.

Rinoa's the one I want to take since I like her, she's kinda close to being complete, and doublecasting Shiva will be great when I do magic Valefor (maybe even physical Valefor... my main problem right now is Laguna dying because he has low HP with no record board)
