Falz after this. agreed. i still play on a private server for PSO1 and people there are much more in the old school mentality of the game where being friendly and communicative is still a thing, but i suppose its because people who play on private servers all seem to share the same mind towards how things were back then --- "Latin Lyrical boss theme begins." |

| Izzythewinner 05/01/20 10:59:44 AM #1 | i myself am a millenial, and i happen to be one that tries to communicate productively as often as possible, since we as humans are social creatures but its usually an uphill battle as most people dont want to say anything or just keep to themself, the term i believe is called "cocooning" or also known as bowling alone. back when i was first growing up playing FFXI or even GC PSO people seemed to be alot more open to communicating, infact FFXI required a whole lot of communication as some of the most basic features of it back in the day was completely insurmountable if you didnt make friends or communicate, even when it came to just making a basic EXP party. since video games have become progressively more casual, QoL induced and streamlined, it has taken a very large portion of what allowed us to be humans, and that was the social part of our nature. I also want to blame party chat aswell since before we kinda had no choice but to use ingame chat. at least through that we were able to meet and make new friends, for bad and for worse as there were certainly plenty of toxic people out there i wont deny, but "nothing ventured nothing gained." "nothing ventured nothing gained" might not be the best expression to use actually because it kinda contradicts the nature of how millenials usually are, lazy, and otherwise anti social. minimal effort is usually put forth because the way games are designed lately seem to do alot of the work automatically now, phone games for instance have become the most profitable gaming market now and most of the time the games are being played on auto lol --- "Latin Lyrical boss theme begins." |
