I had a meeting with my manager at my last job where I asked for a raise based on what I knew other people were making. I had the same title, more responsibility, and always had above average employment reviews. They told me the same thing, that I shouldnt be discussing wages with other people.

Honestly, I probably would have been okay with a little fucking empathy. I know middle management doesnt have much power and I liked that job, so I would have accepted bro that sucks, well see what we can do. But nope, they told me to stop talking about it. I peaced out for something better in the next month.

Best movie Ive seen in a long time. I loved Swiss Army Man too, so EEAAO pretty much solidified Ill see every Daniels movie they put out.

Voter apathy is how we got here in the first place. The US doesn't have nearly enough of its population voting to move society forward in a meaningful way any time soon.

Id argue not trying to primary Dem incumbents with more progressive candidates is voter apathy.

I dont know, it feels a lot like Charlie Brown trying to kick a football. Dems messaging has been to vote blue so stuff like today doesnt happen. Sure, McConnell packed the SCOTUS, but weve had control of the White House, HoR, and the Senate for 18 months and somehow the Republicans are achieving their policy goals with little resistance. If we put the same Dems in power again, why should I believe itll be any different?

This is obviously holding me back a bit, but I dont really know what to do. If you hire a plumber to fix your tub and a week goes by, the plumber does no work, and then states at least your sinks not broken too, do you hire that plumber again?

Ill still vote for any new Democrats on the ballot, but I dont know how I can bring myself to vote for someone whos done fucking nothing for two years.

Also that gun control bill is basically nothing. Leaves a lot of the decisions up to the states, and doesnt include universal background checks.

If youve done fuck all about abortion, gun control, LGBTQIA+ rights, and student loans, you dont deserve my vote. I dont want to fucking hear anymore about bipartisanship.
