TopicWhat's worse: Furries or lolicons?

I would say lolicons by far since they depict underaged characters.
Furries otoh are not as bizarre as them. Their artwork most of the times depicts humanoids with some superficial animal traits that is not anywhere near as bad as depicting animated children.

Ok I really like the character choice but I know people are going to claim SJW because female lead even if optional.

Of course they will, especially if you're playing as Leonidas' kid. Women weren't trained as soldiers in Sparta

They were not trained in combat but they were still trained with a lot of mandatory physical exercise. Spartan women would have been much stronger than other women in Greece.

Neither were the men trained in combat at this time period. We have zero proof that the Spartans engaged in any sort of mock combat or weapon training. Indeed Plato in Laches tells us that the Spartans overlooked the art of hoplomachi, or weapon training. The only training they did amounted to a simple formation drill and exercises. Which when we look at the broad picture of a world of amateur militias the Spartans came up on top with some modest improvements.

I just hope it's not in the continental US. Set it in Australia or Europe.

Uuhh... The whole Fallout setting revolves around the U.S. and its 50s-60s culture.

Cinco de Mayo isn't a big deal outside of Puebla in Mexico IIRC. Cinco de Mayo is more of an American holiday.

Lately I've been reading The Greek Wars: The Failures of Persia by George Cawkwell which attempts to frame the conflicts between the Greeks and the Persians from the perspective of the Persians. Overall I think he brings into perspective some pretty good arguments but I find that he still echoes Herodotus bias against the Persians when he describes them as unarmored.

Must be your church. Most church I've been to are pretty lax on the dress code and you can pretty much wear anything as long as it's presentable.

White people think cleopatra is white. So this doesnt surprise me.

Its like they cant find any Asian actors.

She was literally 100% Greek with a real Hellenistic /Ptolemaic pedigree. You're really ignorant.

That depends, where the Macedonians considered Greeks in Ancient times?

In fact, none of the writings ever make mention of Macedonians being the same as the Greeks aside from the ruling dynasty which were dubious claims at best. The Macedonian elite may have adopted some Greek mannerism but they also had some manners that were considered barbarian by the Greeks such as drinking unmixed wine.

Herodotus writes that Alexander I of Macedon wanted to compete in the Olympics but was barred from entering due to being a barbarian. It was until the dubious cliam that Alexander I was an Argive rather than a Macedon that he was allowed to compete.

for when Alexander chose to contend and entered the lists for that purpose, the Greeks who were to run against him wanted to bar him from the race, saying that the contest should be for Greeks and not for foreigners. Alexander, however, proving himself to be an Argive, was judged to be a Greek. Hdt. 5.22.2

Plutarch also says this

I by no means assent to Demaratus of Corinth, who said that those Greeks lost a great satisfaction that did not live to see Alexander sit on the throne of Darius. That sight should rather have drawn tears from them, when they considered that they have left the glory to Alexander and the Macedonians, whilst they spent all their own great commanders in playing them against each other in the fields of Leuctra, Coronea, Corinth, and Arcadia.

Here he's telling us that the Greeks of old would've wept at the sight of a Macedonian enacting revenge against the Persians. This is from Plutarch, who was a big admirer of Alexander the Great, and he was writing in the 2nd century AD.

Finally Demosthenes claims that the Macedonians and Philip II of Macedon were among the worst of the barbarians.

Why, what better time or occasion could you find than the present, men of Athens? When will you do your duty, if not now? Has not your enemy already captured all our strongholds, and if he becomes master of Chalcidice, shall we not be overwhelmed with dishonor? Are not those states actually at war which we so readily engaged in that event to protect? Is not Philip our enemy? And in possession of our property? And a barbarian? Is any description too bad for him? Dem. 3 16

Cleopatra was the descendant of one of the Hellenic dynasties that popped up following his death.
