Never directly. My coworker who is functionally my grandfather is muslim, so maybe 3 times we've had a customer just go to his face and tell him "you don't know anything can I speak to an American". He's too chill to ever let it get to him, I try to be the same way.

your coworker should have told the customer to fuck off, does he ever do that?

We can't do that by policy, but we don't do that on principle. Never lower yourself.

Other - Boring answer, but it depends entirely on the game.

The gameplay in visual novels generally doesn't matter, that's all the story.

Rhythm games need good audio far more than they do good graphics.

Some games thrive almost entirely on the art. El Shaddai comes to mind.

Of course, most games ride on the gameplay, in which most other qualities can be ignored if it's fun enough.
