Yeah I need help surviving Belias too. I can survive his Savage Painflare if I focus on debuffing his magic, but then his Savage Hellfire is literally capping against me with fire resist accessories and a double dampen Ixion. I'm thinking if I can break his savage mode I should be able to do it, so right now I'm unsuccessfully trying to farm Famfrit.

Last stand isn't too useful here, his savage meltdown saps you and he uses it frequently in phase 3, and unless you can keep him out of savage mode he'll get 2 turns to your 1 by the end.

I pounded my head against a magicite wall all day, but I finally managed to break through and beat Phoenix.

It took 48 seconds and almost a full day's worth of attempts. My magicite decks are fairly solid, so the only way I can see to make it any easier would be to pull Tidus's ASB and LMR, and maybe Rikku's CSB. Breaking his savage mode would make his damage more manageable, but I still don't think Elarra could handle it by herself, so I'd rather have the extra meter from his faster, slightly weaker attacks.

And on an unrelated note, I'm a weak, weak man. Money is kinda tight right now, but I caved and spent $30 on Vivi's USB. (Also a dupe Raines USB). Feels bad man.

Edit: So I went and did some Realm draws cause why the fuck not, got 1/11 dupe, 1/11 dupe, and 5/11 w/ 3 dupes and 2 utterly useless LMRs. At least there was an earth boosting sword in there somewhere.

Lots of shinies and no dupes, but nothing too useful. I guess Alphinaud will be useful when it comes time for wind magic, and Minwu BSB's en-holy will go well with his USB2. Honestly, the 2 glints were probably the best result I could have hoped for.

So I got Phoenix down to about 30% left, I decided to try 2 healers since I can't reliably break savage. I can probably beat him with better timing and more hones, but I'll probably hold off a bit until I have a better second healer (unfortunately Yuna is my second best healer USB behind Elarra, but it's just too slow.)

I do have to say though, it is fun to just throw out constant SBs from all the meter he generates.

The realm draws are a good value, but that doesn't make them an auto-pull by any means. I'd rather skip 3 realms I'm already strong in and save that pull for 4th anniversary. I'm also skipping 11 but I might pull next time if they get new (good) relics introduced.

There's a few things you can do, which will require a lot of saving and loading. Also keep in mind I haven't played in a long time so I might be fuzzy on some of the names / details.

-Hopefully your Claude has the Dexterity and Originality talents, since you'll need them both to customize the Eternal Sphere. I think last time I played I actually restarted the game until he at least had Dexterity, since you'll also need it for pickpocketing. They can both be unlocked via item creation, but IIRC it can get expensive, and it's a lot easier to do later once you have the Orchestra ability.

-Before you start leveling any skills up, have everyone max out their perseverance skill. This saves a ton of SP in the long run.

-Level up your Playfulness skill. This will give you enough money to buy the thief's glove, which lets you pickpocket NPCs.

-You can pickpocket an NPC in Mars Village for a treasure box item. This gives you 3 random items, one of which can be a Marvel Sword. Save and load until you get it. This can technically be done early, but it'll take you a while to get the skills/money for it.

-Work on getting Claude's Customize skill up to about 8. You'll need it to make his Eternal Sphere.

-Whoever has the most spare SP, have them level up the Radar skill a few times until you have 2 Mythril. I'd save and load here until you get these.

-You'll need to get the Sharp Edge right after the tournament. It is missable, but I don't remember the exact sequence of events here, so you'll have to look that up unless someone else can answer.

-Once you have the Sharp Edge, the 2 Mythril, Claude's Customize is skill high enough, and you have his talents, you can try to make the Eternal Sphere.

-If you recruit Ernest you can pickpocket a couple of battle suits from him. Also if you're playing as Claude you can pickpocket one when he goes back to his ship towards the end of disc 1.

That's everything I can think of.

Endings are based on character interactions and how long you use them and stuff like that - IIRC beating the secret dungeon and unlocking the final boss don't even affect the ending. There is a lot of missable stuff though, almost to the point I'd recommend looking up an FAQ for it.

With my new Shantotto AOSB I was able to beat Geosgaeno, although I did not master it. 55.08 clear, using Larsa as an entruster in the first half of the fight, and then throwing down his BSB in phase 3 to absorb the Petrify and act as a second healer. Shantotto was using the entrusts to cycle CSB with her SSB (which boosts the team's MAG/RES along with 8 lightning hits), then using the AOSB near the end as an almost-finisher. Ashe was doing her thing, and Rapha's USB gives team haste, enlightning,and magic boostga... she's not great, but I think it's the best option I have. But I don't know, maybe I should try to fit Vivi in somehow (but if I do that I lose both haste and shellga so I'm pressured for ability slots.)

Do you have Quetz magicite? I have everything you mentioned but no way to break savage.

How many 4*s have you beaten already? Inheritance is more for optimization, so if you're still in the early stages of deck-building then you would be better off building up a wide assortment of magicites than min/maxing a few. Inheriting a second king bomb isn't a bad idea necessarily, just not ideal yet.

King Behemoth helps your phys lightning team, not magic. You'll need Quetzacoatl against Geosgaeno.

For inheriting dampen passives, I would stop at lv. 7 for the second copy. You effectively only lose 1% resistance (14% vs. 15%), but with a much smaller exp cost, as well as only needing 2 copies of said magicite.

I used Orlandu in my attempt, his OSBs were capping with chain and imperils up, but even with that his TQSs were only doing like 6k per hit at best. Might be feasible if you have other good DPSers, but he's not gonna carry the fight by any means.

They only stay savage-broken for like 5 seconds, so an OSB-breaker won't be able to use their meter on anything else (unless you use a battery, which also isn't ideal)

Looks like both water 5*s are a bust. I have everything I need for Famfrit - BK magicite for savage mode, Kain chain, Elarra USB - but no good DPS. Geosgaeno is the other way around - solid DPS in Ashe, Shantotto, Rafa, and Elarra - but no way to break savage.

I think I just got lucky with BK.

I'm glad the realm LDs are gone. I've been skipping them for a while now, but every now and then I'll pull on a whim and end up regretting it.

On a side note, I was thinking about my potential 5* teams, and something really obvious just occured to me: Behemoth King magicite does physical damage. I was thinking it was a straight physical path and a straight magic path through the 5* bosses, but BK will help my phys lightning team, not magic. This really throws a wrench in my lightning magic team, since I have no way to break his savage mode now, and I'm nowhere near beating Quetzacotl yet.

That's...rough. If you have OK mUSB or something similar for the third slot it might be doable, but you'll have to hone the shit out of some earth magic. And I wouldn't worry too much about breaking BK's savage mode if you run 2 healers.

Honestly I think your best bet would be to take Vivi and see how he fares against BK. That'll give you an idea if Maria would mean the difference between a clear or not.

I tried Yiazmat once with Rafa BSB+USB, got him down to <5%. She couldn't keep up enough DPS at the end so I ended up eating a third 49999 attack. I wanted to finish him once just for completion's sake, but considering I'm sitting on 200M gil with nothing to really spend it on, I think I'll just pass.

Yeah I kinda wish I got Edge SSB in that old BSB/SSB select we got a long time ago. Not even sure what I got from it but it couldn't possibly have been as useful as Edge's SSB has potential to be. Edge is even a character I like so yeah definitely not sure what I was doing there.

Was this a gem-only thing? Like, I feel like I would have been kicking myself for not selecting Edge SSB, but I don't have any memory of passing it over.
