Very first human encounter a guy decided to run for cover inside a wall by clipping through it.

My AI allies have on two separate occasions fired a shot at the person I was stealth killing. In one instance every enemy heard it, in the other they remained completely oblivious.

And my AI ally has also literally thrown a zombie directly at me when grappling with it. Multiple times in a row. Eventually it noticed me.

Also there's tons of weird lighting glitches all over the place. Apparently this is technically the fault of the PS4 Pro patch being really badly made, which is kind of worse since this should be the definitive way to play the game.

I'm trying to like this game but damn is it making it hard.

I also get the impression they never expected anybody to play Grounded on a first playthrough. There's a few important things I had to figure out on my own just by fiddling around with the controller, like using the flashlight and the melee attack (which has a cutscene-looking quicktime event tutorial with no on-screen prompt). I also still have no idea where all these candy bars I've been grabbing have been going, I just grab them and they disappear into the ether, nowhere in my inventory.

Japanese companies spend a lot of money on having entire divisions in the West so that Western gamers don't have to do this. Your logic makes no sense, dude. Yeah, sometimes things unfortunately get messed up or changed in translation, but that's just how it goes. These companies bother to make games available and accessible to Western audiences, and you just shit on their effort to do something for your benefit, because you have some odd obsession over a few character names being changed. If Japanese companies had never bothered with localization in the first place, you probably wouldn't even know anything about these games you're complaining about that you can't play in Japanese.

It isn't my responsibility to buy games, nor is choosing not to buy a game an inherent insult against the person who wants to sell it. If I want a Mcdonalds burger with jalapenos and Mcdonalds doesn't sell burgers with jalapenos, then I don't buy a Mcdonalds burger. I don't hate that they have the gall to sell burgers without jalapenos. I appreciate that they worked hard to make burgers available in my area. I don't look down on people who want a burger with japanenos and choose to settle for the burger without. I don't look down on people who don't like jalapenos in the first place. But I'm still not going to buy the burger. Because I'm exclusively in the market for burgers with jalapenos, and they are not offering that product.

I don't think he outright refused, but to be fair, in Zelda games the story matters much more than Mega Man and the English voice acting is pretty subpar. IIRC he wanted Japanese voices and English subtitles, which is fair... I'd almost consider playing it that way, even. But then again, it's not like the English voices are grating or physically painful to listen to, and it's not like it makes the game better to pretend they don't exist.

On the other hand, he's being extremely petty over Mega Man. They have fucking ridiculous stories about robots named shit like Clown Man.

I don't see quality as a significant factor. Preferring to play with the Japanese dub doesn't inherently mean I like the Japanese dub more.

And Clown Man is a respected member of the Robot Master family how dare you

They meant Battle Network, yeah. Though I would argue that even if the games aren't IN the collection, they're still relevant to the player's choice over which versions of the games in the collection to play. If a player wants to play the definitively best version of a game, sometimes they can choose either the English or Japanese version, and sometimes they'd NEED to play the Japanese version, but there is almost no instance where they need to play the English version (the only instance I know of where the English release had more content was Mega Man 2's additional Normal difficulty. Which, I mean, Baby Easy Mode isn't exactly what I look for in added content). And if a person wants a consistent experience throughout the entire franchise, they need to play every game in a single language, otherwise characters will be constantly changing names every which way when switching between regional releases. So if you're going to be playing the best release of the franchise as a whole, you'd have to go with Japanese over English.

Regardless, my choice isn't even one of quality, so the Battle Network thing doesn't weigh into my decision that heavily. It's more that the localization strategy they used for almost the entire franchise doesn't sit right with me. They changed the main character's name, a name which was already in English and made exactly as much sense without the original Japanese context, because one guy thought it sounded dumb. That is not how localization should be done, and the entire franchise has been marred by that decision from day 1, and they made tons more questionable changes along the way (Blue > Protoman, Forte > Bass, Rock > Megaman. Like as in Legends. Why not Mega? Mega would work as a kids name. He's literally a kid running around wearing a hunk of junk suit, we're supposed to believe his adoptive father named him "Megaman" when he was a baby. Like there's a reason he was called Rock and not Rockman, did the localization team not catch that or how does that even happen?)

I worried about whether or not they'll include the Rockman versions of each game, like with Collection 1. It's kind of REALLY important for 8, since, I mean, you know what I mean. And they'd essentially have to include every game in the collection twice, which was pretty simple when they were all NES ROMs, but now we're got modern day releases in here.

I should clarify I haven't had extensive experience with either, but I prefer the PS3 over 360 controller and given the successors seem to be pretty similar I don't expect that to change. In particular I don't like control stick layout being asymmetrical, so even if they managed to have an actually good d-pad on the One there's not much they could do to make up for those sticks.

I do have to give the Prime style another try someday but when it comes to Metroid I always think 1 2 super as well as the Advance game.
When it came to Prime I just hated the style but I never played it more then a few minutes too. But I hated the control.

They announced Xbox 1 backwards compatibility, and showed a game that seemed to have multiplayer focus, which seems to imply they're bringing back Xbox Live for BC games.

The first two games are highly interactive time management sims with a zombie-filled setting. You figure out where you need to be and what time you need to be there, and traverse the zombie-filled environment as quickly and as safely as possible to accomplish as much in your schedule as you possibly can. Killing zombies is a thing that HAPPENS, yes, but to say the game is about killing zombies totally misses the point and any player with that mindset would be lucky to even finish the story, let alone rescue everyone. Generally you want to AVOID killing zombies when you can, since any time you spend killing zombies is time that isn't spent moving towards your destination.

In a fight between PC and PS4, personal preference in control methods is really the biggest factor today (yes of course PC looks MUCH better, but most users that don;t know better are happy enough)

PS4 controller is officially supported on PC now so there's literally no difference. :o

(but you do need more technical knowhow, yeah, it's not as simple as plugging it in the wall socket and then it boots up and lets you play games)

I hope for Nintendo to shotgun a dozen surprise announcements, but come on, they're Nintendo, the only new game they announce is going to be another New Super Mario Bros. level pack. The rest will be trailers of games we already know about and the announcement of a Wii Sports port.

Meanwhile Sony is rumored to announce at least two games. If they do that they'll have beaten Nintendo by sheer numbers.
