(AP) Gov. Phil Scott has signed a proclamation designating Tuesday as George Floyd Remembrance Day in Vermont on the anniversary of Floyds death in Minneapolis. Floyd, 46, who was Black, died on Memorial Day 2020 after then-Police Officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck, pinning him to the ground for about 9 1/2 minutes. Chauvin, who is white, was convicted last month of murder and faces sentencing June 25. Three other fired officers still face trial. One year ago today, George Floyd, an African American man, was murdered by a police officer. His death under the knee of someone charged with protecting all citizens, and caught on video for all to see, was a terrible tragedy - one that sparked grief and outrage around the country, Scott said in a statement. Importantly, it also inspired a national reckoning on racial justice and equity and the role we all play to address these issues, as well as reforms to modernize law enforcement and address racism across government systems. PS1 wins the 2D platforming war by a mile obvi, though Kirby 64's still a certified hood classic & I really need to get around to Goemon's Great Adventure someday. nothing to compare with GoldenEye and nothing to compare with Ocarina of Time. Can't comment on the former since FPS' aren't really my thing but that does seem like the main genre where the N64 stomped its competition. PS1 probably didn't have anything with OoT's scope/visuals but there's some SquareSoft games in a similar vein like Threads of Fate/Brave Fencer Musashi that look fun. Idk I'll get back to you when I play through the Mega Man Legends games, I'm 1.5 hours into the first one now. The PlayStation rather objectively beats the N64 in rpgs, though. And a lot of other genres like shmups, survival horror, rhythm, etc. due to lack of JP support & a lot of those being more eastern-oriented. The few Japanese games the N64 did get make me sorrowful for what could've been... --- OJ didn't do it. |
