Pretty sure it was a premium console specifically created for high rollers who wanted arcade quality at home in the 16 bit era. Its low sales but high pricing wasnt an issue iirc I think it was the Neo geo cd intended to make it more cost affordable and Neo geo pocket color that failed and really killed snk iirc And yeah sadly the Dreamcast was objectively a failure. Bad launch window. Digital only - almost- but will print special games for extra cash? That's just an extra level of absurd. I love to play with stupid shit like this. 2 d and 2.5 d only? Trying to bring back "couch co-op"? That's like, half brilliant half insane. Or maybe 2/3rds insane. Man I love stupid video game consoles almost as much as good ones for some reason.
