I would say because any other time of the year it won't get dark early enough in California for the feds to cut the power. I think Hans wasn't banking on Takagi being compliant and giving up the vault code so he needed a way for the power to be cut which can only come from downtown central command in L.A. and with some form of emergency authority. Since the FBIs plan is to make them stew in the dark, that's probably not effective in July or October since there's so much daylight time. --- |

Despite my love for the Nolan movies, my gripe was the creative camera cuts during fighting, which never made sense as Bale had experience with onscreen fighting (Equilibrium). This is going to be more visceral, more angry, and vicious. I love that little shot of Selena staring mouth open while Battinson beats the dogshit out of someone. --- |
