It's amusing how true this actually is (at least for me). I basically force myself to act confident and have been put in a lot of situations where I basically had to... And now it just comes much more naturally.

Hell, just today someone commented during a teleconference about how strong and confident my voice was, and that was just from me saying my name.

In my campaigns, it's typically a good rule of thumb that any chest that is locked is also trapped. (I usually don't bother putting traps on chests unless I feel it's exceedingly obvious - eg. in an otherwise empty room you see a lone chest on an altar, illuminated by a single beam of light)

Or I let them smash it open and then tell them that they broke the various potions that were in them, and the liquids are beginning to combine and are starting to give off noxious fumes.

Woohoo. My improv wasn't awful in parts that I didn't write out ahead of time. Apart from me desperately trying to figure out what was in a chest as they opened it that I forgot to fill with loot I'd say it went pretty well.

I just use the DM's guide for random treasure when I'm too lazy to figure it out ahead of time. It's a good time waster to allow for people to refill drinks while I "figure out what the treasure is".

It typically does, and is why corporations are their own entity under the law (to prevent you from going after the owner directly).

What'll happen is they'll need to liquidize their assets and pay what they can with the money they have, and that's it.

I micromanaged the hell out of that clock and ended up with plenty of time left at the end of the game and just slept the days away. I still hate that the clock exists though.

I'm always thirsty it seems. On a light day, probably 2-3L. On an average day, probably around 4L. On an exercise heavy day, often over 6L.

That statement has never really made sense to me. Right now we are paying for all the old baby boomers and once they pass away it seems like social security will be a lot more manageable. Been hearing for years that it won't be around by the time I'm old. I think people just like to spread doom and gloom.

The main issue is that people are living for significantly longer than they were when the program was first implemented. It's the same issue a lot of companies (particularly government jobs) are running into with defined benefit retirement plans. These plans were all based on paying out to people for an average of 5-10 years, but now we're paying it out for an average of 20ish years and the number keeps climbing.

This won't change when we get older either. The retirees can't outnumber the workers (or frankly, the numbers can't even be close), otherwise the people working will have to pay an obscene amount. These programs aren't designed for you to draw from them for as long as you contributed to it.

It's a tough decision.

No permadeath means the optimal strategy is pretty much to always run in guns blazing.

But permadeath is also annoying and will probably just cause you to restart the mission. Getting one hit KO'd by a critical hit that only had a 3% chance of activating is beyond frustrating.

He says it's fine to kill a few hundred people to save thousands. What about the other way? Is it fine to kill a few thousand to save a few hundred? A few million to save a few hundred?

If you would want to completely erase any chance of an uprising in retaliation to the "carpet bombings", the number of people killed would have to be astronomical, otherwise the end result would just be an increase in attacks as there would be a very valid reason for them to retaliate.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with the Dancer. A little fragile, but surprisingly powerful.

And obviously having summon magic as a backup certainly didn't hurt...

And after playing with it, I've decided Monk is straight up one of the worst classes in the game. They're fine early on, but are just worthless near the end of the game where even the Dancer starts getting awesome.

The run before that was

Blue Mage/Bard/Berserker/Dragoon

I was initially disappointed with Blue Mage because I never used the class before under the assumption that it was bad. lol nope. Blue Mage is straight up one of the most busted classes in the game. Even the Berserker was legitimately awesome once you get the Rune Axe.
