For example, he also liked Disney cartoons and dogs, is it a bad thing if someone else happens to like those things too?

The problem with wielding a blade is that most common thugs lack the proper discipline or training to test your mettle against. In the event of an assault, most will simply flee the moment you draw your weapon. Those who resist are usually cut down swiftly. It makes you feel like more of a butcher than a true warrior.

Ahh yes, I see what you mean... Perhaps I could design some "limiters" to handicap myself, such as weights and a glove for my right hand with magnets in the palm that repel magnets in the sword grip, forcing me to use my non dominant hand in battle.

Veedrock, what do you think the names Sleeping and Dreaming King mean?

Even an all powerful King is as powerless as a peasant while Sleeping, and while he might be Dreaming of his glorious future, he can not realize it until he is Awakened.

Also, I would only draw my blade if my life was in direct danger, some fool could not arouse my ire sufficiently any other way for me to willingly get his blood all over my clothes.

Not as anything meaningful anyways, it exists as a mental construct, but those differ from each individual, and a word with 7 billion + definitions might as well mean nothing.

This is so simple a truth that I feel silly even talking about it, as if I was making a topic saying the Earth is round, but many people still don't seem to understand it somehow. Well maybe they do on some level but pretending there are evil people makes life easier for them by letting them treat others poorly with a clear conscience.

Also I wonder how small of a meteorite would get you that much usable iron. Like what percent of a typical meteor is iron and how large it would have to be to not burn up on entry and only leave enough iron to make a single blade.

There is no such thing as "evil" as most people think of the word, and there's a lot more to history than what they teach in high school history class. When you get to the point where you can't/won't consider things from a different view point, you've lost.

I've heard a similar "anti-joke" that goes something like "Did you know, if you were to stack all of the giraffes in the world on top of each other... (beat) ...they would all die?"

Perhaps the core tenet of humor is subversion, saying what someone wouldn't expect you to say. So these aren't really "anti-jokes" since as you point out in your example they expect a joke response and in mine they expect some revelations of how tall the giraffe tower would be. Maybe this type of joke should be called a "subversion subversion" but I'm sure someone's thought of a better name by now.

A true anti-joke, taking the word anti literally (the meaning of which is actually closer to 'against' rather than 'opposite') would be something akin to being needlessly serious in what should be a humorous situation or place.

Anyways, a joke, anti or otherwise, I give your example a 2/5. It is very obviously supposed to be a joke, but saying you are boring during the joke adds a layer of conflict that would make you come off as, perhaps trying too hard, or being self deprecating, both of which are more annoying than funny.

If you could say it with a completely straight face and tone, I might bump it up to a 3, since most would expect a corny chuckle from you after telling it, and the lack of that would probably be found funnier than the joke itself.

She has been fascinated by the curse on Stock for a while since it was one of very few ailments she couldn’t find a cure for and this memory issue with fragments of memories of another world fascinates her to the point she decides to devote herself entirely to curing him. Summoning a host of lifeforms she tells them to look after things while she's gone and then
calls a mouse like artificial lifeform called “Mr. Mic” (mascot character) to accompany them towards the first location she thinks the party should check for clues in.

The Princess chooses to accompany them and fight with her bow if need be, since Stock was cursed saving her life and she wants to repay him, or so she says. As they leave the castle gates, a shadowy figure and a giant black wolf leap down from the ramparts and the man draws his massive long sword. Even as the rest of the party draws their weapons, the figure smirks but then frowns as he sees Stock paralyzed with fear. He growls and sheaths his sword asking him who this imposter of the western captain is. Yuri calls him out as Blade Lord Cross (he has a cross shaped scar on his face), a mercenary supposedly working for the kingdom who is said to used demonic powers. He says that before Stock was cursed he agreed to a rematch from an earlier battle where Stock won him over to fight for the kingdom, and he only came to make good on the promise.

However after hearing about the memory loss he realizes there would be no point in fighting Stock now as it would be an easy win. He and his dire wolf Lupin, to the discomfort of most of the party, join them in their quest to restore the memories of Stock and defeat the evil empire, although he makes it clear he is only there to make sure Stock doesn’t die before he’s worth killing. As they walk along the road towards town it cuts to the fortress of the empire where the evil general clutches a sword very similar to the one Stock has which burns with black flames.

OK, so all I have to do is write this out in light novel format, have it translated into Japanese, have them like it enough to make a manga of it, and have that manga do well enough to get an anime, which hopefully gets a video game or two so I can get VIP status here and gloat on the boards.

What do you think?

So a brief overview of the plot/first episode.

One day an ordinary, everyday otaku who is fed up with daily life falls asleep while playing a new fantasy video game. When he wakes up he finds himself in another world, lying in bed inside a castle with a beautiful young woman looking over him. She gives him a huge hug and starts crying, bringing a bunch of soldiers rushing in, who salute him and cheer when they see him sitting up. The girl, Princess Bella, asks the guy, who she refers to as Stock, how he feels. He has no idea what is going on though and faints from shock.

When he wakes up he is still in the castle rather than having woken up like he assumed he would as from a dream. A soft spoken and handsome young man who introduces himself as Yuri Lovegone, captain of the northern guard, explains that Stock, Stock Lequest (get it? Like request and "the" quest, like "regarding the quest") is the captain of the western guard and fell ill after being cursed some time ago, which has apparently impacted his memories. As Stock gets his bearings he tries to remember his life on Earth, but his memories have faded like a bad dream in the morning sun, and he can remember nothing of his life in this world. Yuri returns his sword, a legendary relic called Dragon Star for it's flame enchantment, but it elicits nothing more.

Princess Bella joins the two and gives exposition and whatever about the evil empire her kingdom is fighting against and the curious masked general who laid the curse on Stock. Also when Stock asks what exactly their relationship was she gets super embarrassed and starts stammering. She is saved by Mary Lovegone, Yuri's (very) well endowed older half sister interrupting her to starts teasing Yuri about him not showing any emotion at Stock waking up even though she knows he's relieved and happy. She is a powerful witch who helps the kingdom in times of need like now, but it too wild and free spirited to work for them directly like Yuri who is one of the best fencer in the land (although he's something of a pacifist).

When they step inside Stock is surprised to see a little girl instead of a wise old man as he expected. The girl, Dolo, is actually a thousand+ year old artificial life form who was created by some wizard as an assistant, but out living him, vowed to find a way to gain a soul and has read every tome in the land in that quest and done many experiments with healing magic, even creating some artificial lifeforms herself.
