It's almost as if it was all just a dog and pony show in the first place. When Trump was president the covid numbers were ran 24/7/365 and increased for each new case. I can't remember the last time numbers were reported on covid since Sleepy Joe took over. It was almost as if there was some other narrative behind it all. All I know is the #'s were way worse under Joe with the vaccine being out than they were under Trump. And where is that little punk Dr. Fouci or whatever his name is? That dude needs locked up.

When I read the question Rome and London both popped into my mind first. Rome just for how big an influence the Roman Empire had on the world. But then I think how much of the English empire touched and how the sun never set on it. That's all out of London so I feel London is probably a more modern choice with Rome being a 1B option.

I believe they are ending or did end 3G because now there is 4G and 5G and by doing so they can free up more frequency's to be used for other things that 3G occupied. So not really planned obsolescence but more of removing of old tech to make way and room for new and better tech. Planned obsolescence is what apple does to their phones where they intentionally slow them down after a few years to force you to buy a new one. I think France passed some law against it and Apple had to roll out some update and magically all those old "slow" phones started working almost like new again.

Yeah this year would still be like normal. We'd fall back to normal time this year. Then we'd Spring ahead again next year, but come time to drop back in Nov 23 we wouldn't and we'd just stay that way FOREVER!

I wonder how many people know where DST even came from. I'd say most will know the "because of the farmers" type of answer. Which is what they say now. But that isn't where it came from or why it was started.

It started when Benjamin Franklin went to France and saw it done there. It was done there because it would help conserve candles. The more daylight there is into the evening hours the less they'd use at homes and on the streets where they would light up the roads and walkways with street lights lite by candle light. He liked it so he brought it to America. Well last I checked we haven't been using candle like for awhile now. So there is absolutely no reason to keep DST around(even though this bill sets us permanently INTO DST) But we area already in from the middle of March until Nov so we use it most the year anyways. So why not just go with it right? IMO this would be an overall better change, because now there isn't the flippy flopping around twice a year. There are different states and areas in parts of different states that already do or don't observe parts of it. It will just be nice to have a uniform standard for everyone.
