This is the problem with society...in school its always "when am I ever going to use this?" "how does this help me in the future". They miss the idea that working hard at math in MS/HS can teach them to (1) learn (2) logical reasoning. The more you work towards something the more you refine your learning skills. Math also teaches you logical reasoning, teaches you to think about things in algorithms which helps in many different facets of your life.

I grew up always giving people the benefit of the doubt and forgiving mistakes. I still give people way more benefit of the doubt than they deserve. But I am repeatedly disappointed. So really its my fault at the end of the day. I admit I am somewhat gullible for this reason.

Just saw social media posts of viral Algebra problems that most people actually got wrong and they're confident in it. They try to explain it and it's just dead wrong.

Like damn. Just when I thought society couldn't be dumber...this is basic algebra 1. I learned this in middle school.

I'm just praying I don't have any long lasting effects and my stamina recovers. The silver lining to all this is that I'll be less paranoid about getting it and passing it to my kids now that I've gotten the latest variant. I have a bad habit of touching my face and scratching my nose alot. But I have a good habit of using hand sanitizer every chance I get, even if I don't need it.

Day 5 now. Overall alot better but stamina is still shit.

Not worried about maintanence. Rented a house for 3 years and pretty much took care of most of the maintanence. Plus my father in law lives near by, he's a handyman and retired, he enjoys doing these things.

I think a correction is coming but it may still be better to buy one instead of rent.

We CAN rent for a bit. I just think that pretty much every rent is overpriced so it feels like wasting money. But if I do the math, its still fine. As long as we keep the rent in the low to mid 2000 range we'd be okay.

At that point we would be constantly looking and basically as soon as we see the real estate market turn around we'd pull the trigger...OR when we see a house that we both love and can afford then we'll pull the trigger. Right now house prices are all going down and interest rates are sky high. We juts figure if we wait a year we would get more value for the same price.

The best case scenario for us home buyers is a recession, job loss, then interest rates go down. Inflation should also improve at that point. And that would be the best time to buy.

It is pretty ridiculous.
One of my coworkers had a premature baby that ended up costing over a quarter of a million dollars before insurance.

Premature babies have to be monitored in the NICU so its the NICU visit that probably racked up the cost. Any ICU is super expensive.

I will say that I genuinely think that the US has the best healthcare in the world if you have good insurance.

I guess thats the difference...the japanese machines don't spit it out into a cup. It gives you a closed bottle. But it keeps it warm the whole time.

I just find that of all the coffees and milk teas I tried in japan, they all tasted bomb, and way better than the shit lattes, teas, and hot chocolates that our vending machines spit out.

I'm thinking I might try to invest in something like this and try to get it placed in a hospital or something. People are always drinking coffee or tea. Hospital coffee is trash. Some hospitals have cafes and the lines are usually long and their hours are trash.

And I don't mean the american latte serving machines. I mean the same ones that are in japan where you get a closed container hot drink.

Its been too many years since I stopped watching. I dont remember what happened..I dont know where to start now.

Just finished season 6 and the storyline isn't finished. Feels like it needs another 2 or 3 episodes to end it.

Thats the thing, I actually lived it myself. Alot of the worst thats shown in the media is actually true. Bro I went to a 4th of july bbq at a friends house where all the kids had a competition of who could draw the best picture of Trump with chalk on the driveway/sidewalk. And all the kids, adults were constantly joking about how biden has dementia and Trump is jesus. This is in one of the nicer subdivisions in the city where you would expect people to be classier. I had conversations with these people briefly about politics which I quickly shut down when I realized how extreme these people actually are.

I actually got very close to my neighbor and some of his friends. I almost felt like a spy, because I wasn't arguing the liberal stance, I just sorta went with the conversations. These guys are deep in their shit beliefs.

I've overheard the most fucked up conversations among people at work, about how immigrants are taking over and they need to be stopped. When the baby formula shortage happened and Biden ordered a bunch of supply be imported, I overheard nurses complain about how biden is gonna just send most of it to immigrants. Like first of all, who cares about their ethnicity or race, a kid is a kid. Second of all, thats literally fake news.

So when I hear about all these extreme shit on the news, I know from first hand experience that its all true and can probably be generalized.

I feel like the only way is to let the red states try to support themselves, once that fails they will turn blue and finally start helping themselves.

Problem is, there's many pockets of very blue areas within the Red States, and vice versa.

Perfect example being basically any major city in Texas. Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio voted blue in a near 4 to 1 margin, but Trump won the state by over 600k votes.

Good show but I think it declined as it progressed. (Full season 3 spoilers) I think they started caring too much about trying to avoid killing people and collateral damage. Like at the end, they could've all easily ganged up and killed Homelander. As insane as soldier boy is, he didn't seem nearly as bad of a person as Homelander. And once they got rid of homelander, they could've later focused on soldier boy who clearly doesn't really have bad intentions other than when he gets PTSD and blows shit up.

This show is exactly like game of thrones, senseless, ruthless violence, gore, sex....and as it progresses turns into some disney bullshit.

Yea I will. I have in the past but responses were kinda dumb. Like they'll be saying things like some mid or low tier HS's by the rankings are the best. Like at the very least they should be somewhat consistent with other rankings. Like if theres 3 or 4 schools that are listed as top-100 in the state, like the order of that can be debated. If you're trying to tell me the 600th rank school is better than the 50th ranked school, then you don't know what you're talking about.

There was one dude who claimed to be an english teacher who said sacramento area schools were better than bay area schools. Like get outta here dude, bay area schools are nationally top ranked.

If theres one thing thats consistent with real estate its that the best schools will have the most expensive real estate.
