This suggests that Republicans would make no attempt to win a popular majority. That's how they behave now because the EC allows them to win that way, but I assure you they would adjust to be competitive under a new system.

This is a great point, and I appreciate you for making it.

Lmao, yeah, I realised I totally misunderstood what you meant by dead.

Speccy servers were last updated in 2019, although like you said, add another year for the software itself. Avast bought Piriform about five years ago, and CCleaner has by far been the main focus of the company. I think Covid had something to do with the lack of updates.

Their other software Recuva had gone just over five years without an update, but has now gotten three updates since March of this year. I remember Dave back a few years ago saying in the forums that that was more or less their game plan - Get CCleaner caught up, then continue on with the reat of their software.

I feel quite confident that corporate farms will want to sell their products to millions of people located in the cities.

Besides as you point out small farmers will obviously supply the smaller population of rural America.

Why compete over the scraps when they have a huge market available to them in cities?

Yes, large farms can continue to supply urban areas, and small farms can continue to supply rural areas. That isnt the point of what Im saying.

The electoral college protects the voters, who vote in ways that will that will not only protect their income, but the actual farm itself. The land. The ability to even grow food or raise livestock in the first place. Thats why I listed examples such as uninformed environmental regulation and FDRs New Deal.

Without the Electoral College, urban centers are determining everything in the entire country. People who lived their entire lives in NYC and LA and have no idea what rural even means, or what a farm requires, or where their food comes from, are by default going to vote for things that prioritize urban life, because thats all they know. Im not trying to rag on urban life or city slickers or whatever, and Im not trying to suggest theyre idiots or something.

But thats exactly what the electoral college is for - Its not specifically to protect a conservatives shitty beliefs on abortion or gay marriage. Thats an extremely unfortunate side effect. The electoral college protects the actual, genuine, and necessary things that conservatives statistically bring more of - Such as farming, manufacturing, truck drivers, and the trades like construction and plumbing.

If you only ever have democratic policies passed and only democratic presidents elected, you will start losing in *huge* industries. Thats what the electoral college is for.

No it wouldnt.

A palindrome is a word or phrase that can be spelled the same way forward or backward, letter-by-letter, ignoring spaces.

Obi wanken obi spelled backwards is
Ibo neknaw ibo

Which is not the same.

Wow spelled backwards is
Wow

So farmers in California dont deserve to be represented but farmers in Nebraska deserve to be over represented

Conservative logic is so fucking weird

Thats not anything like what I said.

All voters are protected with the Electoral College.

The reason Maine and Nebraska are extra protected is because they actually have some form of proportionate distribution of electoral votes.

The other 48 states have all or nothing which usually means, for example; in California, none of the Republicans get represented. In Montana, none of the Democrats get represented.

That isnt the Electoral College though. Thats the individual states decisions. California, along with 47 other states, are deciding to be all or nothing with their electoral votes.

And Im not a Conservative.

People here seriously believe farmers are still like they used to be in the 18th century and not giant factories run by the top 1% like Monsanto and ConAgra and that most of the "small farmers" are just living on leased land owned by those companies.

Excluding Hawaii and Alaska, about 40% of total farm land in the country is rented/leased, the rest is owner-operated farms. About 50/50 for crop farms specifically (though a majority is leased) and 25/75 pastures (a majority being owned).

The increase in commercialized farms is often blamed on FDRs New Deal and later agricultural bills that (accidentally) created a path for the rich to get richer in the farming industry, and thats a major factor in why farmers dont often vote for Democrats.

How much of that food comes from California? Does the EC protect them?

California is the largest food producer of the 50 states. A majority of US-consumed nuts (including 100% of the almonds) and fruits are grown in Cali, but Im not sure about the total US-consumed food that comes from the state.

The Electoral College protects all 50 states voters. It protects Maine and Nebraska voters more than the other 48, because theyre the only two states that dont do the winner take all crap. Thats the gripe I have about the EC - It should require states to proportionately distribute their electoral votes, in my opinion.

Those few urban epicenters contain the vast majority of the country's population.

the electoral college is dumb as fuck

Then when those urban areas divert water supply, make uninformed environmental regulations, shitty land ownership laws, and New Deal 2.0 laws, all of the small rural farmers stop growing food.

FYI - 80% of the food that feeds the urban epicenters comes from the rural farms in the country. Now why would we want an Electoral College protecting that?

So if you eat up to only 3000 calories per day then you'll lose 1 pound per week. Burn about 200-300 calories per day and you'll see even better progress weekly.
To put simply, to lose 1lb of body fat per week, people will need to have a deficit of around 500 calories per day.

You communicated a deficit of 500 calories compared to a pound of fat (3500 calories). What that screenshot/Google is actually saying is a deficit compared to a persons daily caloric intake that would result in no change in weight (based on their exercise, general health, current body weight, etc)

What you said is accurate for *some* people, but a 500 deficit for *most* people would be eating 1500-2000 calories a day, not 3000.

Then it clicked in my head and I realized it was a sub-genre. Hit on comedy and then cleared it two guesses later.
