I love anything about cognitive bias so I am going to definitely look into this.

I don't read much but I picked this up for $2 at a random trip to Peddler's Mall and managed to read it and I really enjoyed it so I'm taking the opportunity to give a book recommendation.

Main character is a psychiatrist who gets sent on a mission to a planet called Boomerang. The main goal of the mission is to study this human-like race which lives there and are immortal in hopes of discovering the science behind their immortality.

It's short and really light to read but it's a pretty neat idea.

I will also look into this

Dresden Files has a bit of a mystery element to it which takes place in an Urban Fantasy setting, might be worth checking out. The first couple books are a little rough as the author is trying to figure out his vision of the series but the ones after that are very good

I was hoping to suggest Rick Steves' travel guides to wherever you're going, but that's not what you're looking for.

He's pretty good at picking out obscure sights, if you need a guidebook.
