I was going to many years back, but then I had a look at the past contest results I couldn't understand how a contest that is held every year with largely the same people could have such wildly varying results. I have just taken a look at the current contest and to give you an example you have Cloud, Zidane and Tidus (characters who would do well in any B8 contest, and im sure one of these must have been top 5 in a previous SMFFFFFC) ending up lower than Ktjn (a very, very minor character that you do not have to talk to at any point of the game - and for the record FF12 is my 2nd favourite of the series). So I don't actually know what the contest results tell me, and it seems more like luck if a character was to do well or not.
Obviously I'm in the minority because it still has a huge following, but I thought I'd say why I don't participate. --- Well done to azuarc for finishing 67 places above me in the 2020 GOTD Guru Contest! |
