Pulp Fiction's biggest flaw is that Tarantino's raging foot fetish was spent on an actress with kinda ugly feet (and maybe all the dialogue between Bruce Willis and his French girlfriend).

I will say that the movie's major character death is one of the most shocking moments I can ever remember in a film - not so much because Tarantino chose to do it, but because he did it in a way that was so quick, grimy, and without any buildup. Such a ballsy move.

Oh yeah, didn't think of Braveheart. Honestly never liked it.

As for the remaining few, SephG seems to like David Lynch (or Twin Peaks anyway), so The Elephant Man would have been my surprise guess, but that's an 80s movie and that decade is wrapped up. Still definitely worth a watch imo.

Agreed, in person is way easier than online for me, or at least it was the last time I was dating nearly four years ago. Online, every guy has jokes, stories, rehearsed conversations and ways to keep em going. It's gotta be so difficult to separate yourself when the average girl is probably juggling 10x the average number of conversations the average guy is.

If you can tell a decent enough story and make a girl laugh IRL, you are very likely better suited for in-person dating and can skip the online stuff.

I'm not sure this is true. He's a major star sure, but Jumanji might be his only huge hit outside the F&F franchise (Moana was Disney-powered and would have made a lot of money with or without him). F&F seems to make like a billion per movie; Jumanji's the only other Rock movie to make anywhere near that.

Yeah, at least with the live action remakes, human characters might be able to bring more nuanced acting/expressions, even though the energy and over-the-top expressiveness of the animation is gone. With The Lion King, they are going from traditional animation to... worse animation.

I'm not going to criticize Disney for making this because they're not going to leave hundreds of millions of dollars on the table, but no one is going to actually prefer this over the original.

About 75 posts in and two thoughts:

1. I just got back from 16 days in Guatemala (best vacation of my life). My gf's cousin spent some time touring us, and during a drive through a seedier part of town, we saw two (surprisingly incredible looking) prostitutes. Based on what little her cousin knows, apparently you can get negotiate some sex acts for as little as 50 quetzales, or like $7. Couldn't fucking believe it. Also, the polite term for prostitutes there is something that translated to "lady who has temporarily compromised her morals". There's always hope to find the virtuous path again!

2. Thank god I'll happily settle for a handy/motorboat combo. Even if it's a one-night stand and not a sex worker, putting your dick in someone you barely know has always struck me as too risky.

It always had a cheesy style, and the writing's been campy since the start. I think that even among critics (a lot of people do see the show's corniness as a positive), that stuff gets glossed over because simply put, they lucked out by finding the most likable core group of child actors since The Goonies - they carry the show.

Magic Kingdom has some good stuff.

Apart from Seven Dwarfs, what does it have that Anaheim Disney lacks? Not hating or anything, just curious because they seem so similar but with Anaheim having huge bonuses like Indiana Jones and now Galaxy's Edge.

I'd still go just to see it once, but learning about the Fastpass system in Florida really culled my excitement. In a full day at the SoCal park, I could probably get close to ten Fastpasses and rarely wait longer than 20 minutes for anything. Based on my sister's experience in Magic Kingdom, that just isn't feasible there.

If I ever go to Disney World, I decided to just stick with Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Magic Kingdom seems so much worse because of its gimped Fast Pass system, and I've heard nothing but crap about Hollywood Studios (I know they'll open Galaxy's Edge there, but they have that at Disneyland too).

TP is my least favorite 3D Zelda. Apart from Midna being the best sidekick, there's nothing else it offers that I consider a high for the series. Other games leave it outclassed in terms of dungeons, overworld, visuals, music, and exploration, and the "total package" really doesn't mesh that well, as it suffers from some awful pacing.

To its credit, TP feels like it has resurfaced as a liked game in the franchise after being kinda shat on for years... and I'm wondering why. It aging well and being favorably reevaluated like this just doesn't pass the smell test for me.

The PT is the worst acted and directed of the bunch, but the unintentional humor and memes have really elevated its status in the last decade. It may go down as the ultimate definition of "so bad it's good". I still probably take it last, but TLJ left a bad taste in my mouth, so I guess it's up in the air and Ep IX could be the deciding factor.

OT destroys both.

@CaptainOfCrush Thanks for the tips man, I really appreciate it. We're driving from Phoenix, which is about a six hour drive. We're most likely taking my friend's car since mine doesn't get good gas mileage.

We've started a budget for about 1k each, but with careful planning it sounds like that'll be more than enough. Not sure yet how many days we'll go, though.

Sure thing. I used to live nine miles south of Disneyland growing up, and my parents got us annual passes when they were still affordable. I went so often that I actually grew tired of the place in my early teens (how spoiled is THAT) and didn't go again until my late 20s. When I rediscovered it as an adult, I was amazed at how fun the place still was, and now my girlfriend and I try to make the trip from Vegas once a year.

I've pretty much got the place memorized and can give you some tips at minimizing wait times. Last time we went in December, the park reached max capacity, and my group still never waited more than 25 minutes in any line.

Anyway, if you go, I'm sure you'll have a blast. Once you get inside the park, they really do a great job making you feel like you're in another world.

Get an AirBnB, They are going to be a lot cheaper.

That's true, I haven't looked into it but I assume they'd have to be. Anyway, it's a good idea for whatever lodging you choose to be walking distance. The best strategy for a fun Disneyland day is the following (imo):

- Get there early, as soon as or even before the park opens at 8 am
- Hit the first four hours HARD, including some of the hugest rides. This is when the park is the least busy.
- Go back to the hotel/AirBnB and rest at around 2 pm
- Come back at around 6 and hit the evening session hard from 6-close

The park will be at its busiest and hottest between 2-6. Almost anything will have big lines, and trying to endure those lines will sap all your energy. It's best to leave the park and take a nap in your room, then return to hit the night session hard.

Speaking of, what's a a good budget to have for a trip to Disneyland? Accounting for everything, of course - gas, hotel, souvenirs, park fees, emergency, etc. I haven't been there since I was a kid. Gonna see if I can find any package deals or specials.

I think a two-day ticket will cost at least $250 if you get the MaxPass with it (which you definitely want to do). Disney Anaheim is only two parks, and while I've never been to California Adventure, it only has about half the rides of Disneyland itself, so it's easily doable in a day.

- Gas depends on where you're driving from, so can't really help you there

- There are a ton of hotels near the park, so you have many options. The Disney-brand hotels are insanely expensive (hundreds per night), but there are many within walking distance for considerably less. You can probably get a walking distance hotel for $150 a night.

- Souvenirs are very, very overpriced. I personally don't think there's anything in the park worth buying at their inflated prices, but maybe Galaxy's Edge will change that (although they're charging $200 for a toy lightsaber, so that gives you an idea as to how much Disney gouges their souvenir prices.

- Apart from parking, which I think is around $20 a day, the only "resort fee" is the Max Pass, which is optional and allows you to get Fast Passes on your phone app. I think it's $15 per person per day and is easily the best value in the park.

Basically, cost will vary immensely depending on your travel situation (are you driving from San Diego or flying from Vancouver, etc) and how much you want to spend on lodging. Thrifty people with easy traveling can do this trip for a few hundred. Families flying from across the country or the world can easily spend thousands.
