Hey Digi, would you have any recommendations for a quality set of bookshelf speakers for general turntable use? Something that plugs into a pre-amp. I just ordered the Sony SS-B1000 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OG88KY/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00) but I'll probably have a day or two to cancel the order if you have anything comparatively priced but better in mind.

I dunno, I just want something that's good all around. I listen to rock, pop, indie, folk, country, blues, funk, soul, hip-hop, electronic, chiptune, dubstep, outsider, classic, etc. Pretty much the only genre I don't listen to much of is metal. Hell, I listen to a lot of audio books and talk radio archives via headphones as well.

I just started a new job, and my cubicle is directly underneath the company's gym, and the stairs leading up to it don't have a door to muzzle the sound. I've only been working there for about a week and I've already heard Call Me Maybe far too many times coming from the stereo up there. So something that insulates against sound pretty well even when I don't have anything playing would be nice, which I imagine means over-ear.

I've seen the Mona Lisa in person and it didn't really strike me or anything, I just see a pretty standard portrait, and I don't find Renaissance era portraiture particularly interesting.

Do you go to many museums, ayuyu? I've never been to one that had many--if any-- covers over their works. I've been to the Louvre, and of the works I saw only the Mona Lisa was covered, and that's mainly to protect against camera flashes. Most museums just make guests check their bags at the entrance, have security guards in every room, and have sensors that beep if you get too close. If you cover a painting then you'd have to fight glare, and you wouldn't be able to see the texture of the paint nearly as well.

i don't know what the f*** just happened there, he just died-jumped to ganon in the fortress or something. I've never seen a WW speedrun before, and I was surprised at how by-the-book the strategy was until that part.

I just read the description on her kickstarter, though I haven't viewed any of her videos. What's so awful about this? It's not exactly (or at least it shouldn't be) a controversial opinion that video games by and large have serious problems with female representation and depiction.

Why would anyone vote for a remake of either game in that poll at the bottom when one of the options is a NEW GAME.

Seeing as their last two original handheld games are Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass, I'd rather they just go with the sure thing and remake a game.

All the council members might be benders, but I don't think it's a requirement. Sokka and an air temple guy were both council members during the Yakone days and I doubt that air temple guy was an air bender.

Bending always existing doesn't make it right. Thats the same as people saying "well we've always done it this way" in response to things

I had this long speech written but I realized I could simplify it by saying this: there's a reason 5 benders sit on the council for republic city and why all it's officers of the law are benders. Imagine a world where only white people could be politicians and cops. Don't you think everyone else would be a lite bit upset?

I'm wiling to say bending causes more harm than the harm it fixes. The sheer separation it drives through benders and non benders is terrible.

Do we know all the members of the council are benders? I thought we only knew that they represented their respective tribe or nation.

But then what about the old air nomads? It would be pretty difficult or impossible to reach some of those locations without air bending.

Just as the original fire benders learned bending from the dragons and earth benders from the badger moles, the air nomads learned air bending from the sky bisons. They likely were nomads that found a herd of bison, tamed them, and flew them to the areas where they would eventually build their temples. Sometime during this process, they learned air bending from them.

As far as the genetics of bending go, they will likely always be fairly murky. There's definitely some genetic link involved, as bending parents more reliably give birth to bending children and a bender of one type cannot be a bender of another (aside from the Avatar, obviously), but it's not entirely genetics either.

Bending is tied into unexplainable, spiritual and mystical mumbo jumbo. It's a result of culture and one's way of life. Could a water tribe couple with no family history of bending produce a water bender? I think most people would say yes. Could they produce a fire bender? I think most people would agree that they couldn't.

That's also why I don't think the survival of air bending lies solely in the hands of Tenzin and his children. An entire village of people have once again taken to the air nomad way of life, and are probably interacting with sky bison again. They'll learn the art again, someday.

For those disappointed in the season being 12 instead of 13 episodes, I'm pretty sure that the next season is 14. They have a 26 episode contract, and I've read from various sources since the show began that they intended to do it this way.

The thing is, even with the current gen, animation quality is most of what makes actual real time gameplay look bad. And better tech specs aren't gonna change that. Of course, these days you could slap some quick time events onto that movie and people would call it game of the year.
