It's a good movie because of the fan service. I wish it did more, but the fact that it at least try to do something interesting with it is what made it enjoyable. Definitely not MCU best, but it was a lot of fun.

I thought its biggest flaw was it did too much.

What was happening was great, why it was happening could have been better. I understand with this big crossover movies you have to fogive some details

It lived up to or exceeded my hype. Then again my hype was reasonable and I've never been big on Spidey. It's the best Spidey movie

Mysterio leaked spidermans identity then that lead to...multiverse stuff? A spell cast with no one thinking through the parameters which lead to fanservice. It was supposed to be a Kraven movie then sony/disney deal dropped, then started again and became a multiverse story. Let's not act like there was a long build up and the only way for this to exist is for Sony to fuck up Spiderman twice

BTW I really liked the movie but let's not re-write history

That and it doesn't seem corona has affected this much. People are hesitant to go back to theatres...but not for spiderman

The spiderman fanbase is one level away from being star wars bad. Just a few years ago they were crying for spidey to be in the mcu, then crying when he almost got ripped out while also crying there is too much MCU in his movies

They are pretty annoying. They will try to convince you green goblin with his 10mins of screentime in the MCU is the best MCU villain

I want more crime lord Boba and less how he escaped flash back. Episode 1 was whatever but still interested to see where this goes

cap america 1 was a solid 7/10 title, I hate that it gets lumped into the bottom tier of marvel. It isnt either endgame/iw/nwh and thor dark world/hulk/iron man 2. Shang Chi is better than thor1/cap 1 for sure

I think MCU is going the comics route of having multiple conflicts: cosmic (etrnals/thor), magic/multiversal (strange/wandavision/loki), street level (hawkeye), international (captain america). with some overlap between them.

really enjoyed the movie

No Way Home slightly edges it out for me this year but both are in the same class

Bus fight is a top tier MCU fight

The biggest plot hole is Tony stark leaving an advanced drone army to a teenager who has been dead for 5 years

I loved the movie but here are my issues (still a 9/10, best spiderman movie, best MCU project since endgame):

The big one is why everything is happening. The what is happening is great but why is half assed. Strange and spidey could have discussed the parameters of the spell, it makes both look dumb, especially Strange. It is hard to escape that they wanted all 3 spidermen there to face classic villains but how they got there was half assed

The final battle takes place at night and involves a sand guy (who I still dont know why joined the villain team) and a dark lizard guy

Unless its endgame, you should be fine

I excluded MJ and Akwafina, wanted to leave it to super powered women

I've always held that ScarJo was miscast as Black Widow. I commend her for sticking around as long as she did, but Yelena had one appearance and was a vastly superior character.

She was legit as widow....when the movies were handled by the russos

The plane rescue sequence was great though

The dude has bs autoaim. It is at the point where it is more broken than a lot of super powered characters powers.

I dont like when they make superhero movies/shows on non powered up characters because they end up just looking like super soldiers anyways. Black Widow survived some falls that Steve rogers may not

Someone that will take some spiderman stories. Clearly 3 films plus 3 appearances has done some damage on Tom in the past 6 or so years. Lower the burden on him so he can still do Spidey but at a slower rate

Tom Holland is quickly becoming the face of the MCU. Interesting, because this all started as basically a cameo in Civil War. Now, the gold standard goes to him. Not Hulk. Not Thor. Not the Cap. Not the GotG. Not Ant-Man. Not the Eternals. When people see Spiderman, they open their hearts.

Lets give it time. This has been a thing for a momth before this Hollandman was being marketed aa such but not connecting on the level of iron man/cap

Finally saw it. I thought it was shitty what happened to Tom Holland but at the same time, I also liked it. Now he is the Spider-Man I am used to. He's finally all alone and self sufficient. The next trilogy will be very interesting

Peter and MJ was a healthy relationship. Makkari and Druig was great in limited scenes. I liked that shang chi and katy remained just friends

The only part that was visually great was thr fight with dr strange. Aside from that it was never bad but never great visually.

I've only seen the first two episodes of Hawkeye, but no Black Widow yet, and I currently feel like it wouldn't be too hard for Black Widow to be better, but maybe I need to get further into the show before I start to enjoy it.

The first 2 parts are the worst part. 3 is a huge step up

I disagree, everything regarding her hunting Clint was bs and all it took was the Widow whistle to turn her off it

I think both are comparable in quality, they fall in the good but not great territory.

I slightly preferred Black Widow, better action in there. Hawkeye felt like it bit off more than it could chew in parts. Both fucked up their villains

I doubt MCU gets its own eddie brock venom. I doubt Sony wants competing Eddie Brock Venoms especially since theirs makes big money for them. It'll probably go black spiderman to agent venom. Maybe after Sonys venom dies (like all of their Spiderman movie franchises)

Movie was great though, Im not even the biggest Spidey guy and loved it
