Did MTGA ever get any decent solo content? I enjoy the game but suck at playing it against people who know what they're doing, so I mostly just play puzzle/quest modes of other games. Worth reinstalling Arena now it's out properly, or is it all multiplayer?

Even though I knew it would turn out to be the case, I'm still disappointed at the outright confirmation that it's Harley Quinn featuring the Birds of Prey rather than the other way round, but still... looks good.

But it needs Oracle. Even if it's just a stinger showing that they've been helped by a redhead in a wheelchair who doesn't get a proper role until a future film... BoP without Babs is not BoP.

The demo seems to be doing its best to melt my PS4. Five minutes in the character creator and the fans are so loud I have to turn it off.

Anyhoo, for the next day or so, you can go to gog.com and get Freespace 2 added to your accout for free. Then go to https://fsnebula.org/knossos/ to grab the Knossos mod manager, which can automatically install the MediaVP packs to bring the graphics up to modern standards, the FSport that lets you play the campaign of the first game, the Silent Threat Reborn mod that remakes the crap expansion pack into something brilliant, and a whole bunch of other mods and total conversions.

It's awesome, you should play it.

There's a game called Space Base that has a really cool trashing mechanic, although it's not a deckbuilder, but has some structural similarities.

Basically, you have twelve numbered slots, roll two dice, and then you can activate the abilities in either the two slots whose numbers you rolled, or the slot corresponding to the total. Every time you replace the card in a slot, you flip it round and tuck it under the board, and it continues to provide a smaller benefit every time your opponents roll its result. It can be a good strategy to ditch not just the starter cards, but their replacements too, because the 'flipped' effects stack, so if you keep replacing the low-numbered slots, you can gain big benefits on each opponent's roll, then aim for the high-numbered 'big' effects on your roll.

Not sure how you'd apply something similar to a traditional deckbuilder, but the concept of "Do I keep this card in my deck and get its great ability once per shuffle, or ditch it and get a lesser ability more frequently?" could be a neat idea.

Had my eye on this one for a while, and it's currently on sale on Steam. Unfortunately, while I was glancing over the reviews, one person had posted "I'm not going to get into any spoilers, but it turns out you're the son of a demon..."

Well... that looks like a spoiler to me. Possibly a pretty big one. Especially given that quite a few other reviews mention big plot twists that they didn't see coming.

So, my question- well, first, is it a good game? And if so, has some random **** trying to post an 'edgy' bad review just ruined it for me?

Looks alright. Kind of like Left 4 Dead mixed with the asymmetrical aspects of Dead by Daylight.

Ugh, asymetric means it's pretty much guaranteed to have no decent single-player options. There goes all my interest.

Remember, Tokyo Mirage Sessions was intended to be a series, with each entry drawing Mirages from a different crossover franchise. If it does well this time round, they might go ahead with a sequel after all, and I for one would love to see TMS #SMB, or TMS #DQ

That line, coupled with the elaborate machinery in the Physics lab and the mysterious locked Bio Lab, made me wonder for a while if the big twist was that the characters were all clones of the real students who'd died in the massacre in Classroom 5-C (since Kyoko's clone wouldn't have the same scarring), and maybe the killing game had happened several times already, with the same people being killed and cloned every year.

For the record, the Smash board is cross-referencing this with other 'leaks' that were rumored and so far the general consensus is that the SNK character is someone named Nakoruru

Nakoruru is from Samurai Shodown. I guess it would make sense given that they've just released a new SS game, but I wouldn't have thought it was well-known enough as a franchise to warrant a third-party Smash slot, especially a paid one.

What gets me is when a Complete/GOTY version regularly goes on sale for much cheaper than the DLC by itself. If I already own the base game, I resent having to buy it again rather than having an equivalent discount on the Season Pass.

Just finished the first game, and loved it. I've got all four games, but I remember there being something weird about v3 really being 4 and there's a 3 anime that you need to watch two parts of in a weird order ot something. So if someone could explain that to me again, that would be great.

Also, Ultra Despair Girls before or after DR2? I know it's set before 2, but interquels are sometimes written assuming you already know spoilers that occur afterwards chronologically.

And are there any other manga/light novel spinoffs available in English that are worth reading?

The one I'm (slowly) working on in RPG Maker.

It was inspired by the D&D scene in Life is Strange: BtS, so it's more a VN than an actual RPG, but the idea is that you're really playing as a group of people sitting around a table, complete with all their out-of-character dialogue, but what you see on-screen is their characters in the game.

Doubt I'll ever get far with it, but it's fun to tinker with for a while.
