Gulfport, Lake Charles, Mobile, where there is a lot of old money white people? Are you social? Do you interact with southerners less than others by chance? My argument wasnt that it was cringe. It is that the behavior of southerners can be cringe in various contexts and worldviews. It doesn't look like you had an argument. The Handmaid's Tale is one of the best of the dystopian genre. It takes a look at male colonialism and the "control of knowledge". The problem with the progressive analogy is that there aren't powers regulating if Harry Potter should be taught or not. I know, context matters, but realistically most people are visiting the same social media sites, then finding niches for their hobbies/interests. All that said, when we were kids.......
