AC 3's biggest problem is that it was full of half-realized concepts. Some of the Assassin "powers" were usable once during the tutorial and then never again... and the thief power was so OP that it pretty much broke the game.

Eh, I'd argue there were much bigger issues with 3. One was that despite the main character being native, it barely even matters to the overall plot past the intro acts. Plus, slavery in the colonies is conspicuously absent. Another big problem is that colonial America doesn't have much architecture when it comes to climbing and leaping off of tall things, which is a big part of the appeal of these games. The game just comes down to "let's reenact a bunch of famous moments from history".

Keep in mind Jigglypuff has made the contest, and she was pretty weak despite having the backing of the anime and Smash Bros. I'd peg Skull Kid around her level, anyway.

Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 2 came to mind first. I mean, I don't know if it completely fits, considering it kicks off the final act of the game, but it's not the last stage or the final battle.

Also, I'm pretty sure more people know Guile's Theme than anything else from Street Fighter.

I'm pretty sure the antagonist of a game that won Game of the Decade won't lose to a random pokemon. Especially considering MM straight-up beat Gold/Silver.

I like how everyone's complaining about the quality of these games but this poll still has way more votes than the Street Fighter poll.

I actually picked Simon Blackquill, simply because breaking his chains, sending a bird to attack people, and the entire concept of a prosecutor on death row was hilarious to me.

You try beating Hector Hard Mode without restarting. You'll quickly change your tune on Fire Emblem resets.

All I can really say is that I've been playing the Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection, and HOLY FUCK am I thankful there's an infinite lives mode in this collection. I don't understand how anyone could play through these games without it; some sections are straight-up brutal.

I feel like the Persona 3 remixes in P4A probably shouldn't count (Heartful Cry is awesome).

Did we forget Skyward Sword is a mainline Zelda? To be honest, I'd feel pretty good taking Final Fantasy XIV over it.

We aren't having contests all the time like we used to, so the closest I can get to my fix is getting obsessed with elections, analyzing candidates, predicting the winners, etc. Even in primary season (though primary season is more exciting than the general election if you live in a state that's a solid color). Plus, candidates hit term limits or run for other offices, so in (some) cases it's not the same winners every time.
