The only point to wearing a watch in 2019 is that you've got a tiny little machine on your wrist that was painstakingly assembled from parts too small to handle with your fingers by an expert craftsman. It's like, sure, a polyester microfiber fleece sweater will keep you warm for $10, but the $300 designer cashmere sweater feels much nicer and wasn't made by slave labor and isn't literally plastic. --- Cavaliers: ONCE |

It still grants invisibility and heightened senses and allows Frodo some measure of dominion over Gollum. Bilbo isn't even aware that Sauron exists in The Hobbit and therefore has no need to fear using the Ring; there's a "Necromancer" who was eventually retconned to be Sauron but he only existed originally to distract Gandalf at a key point in the tale. --- Cavaliers: ONCE |
