Berating 04/22/24 4:57:04 PM #14 | yeah Prey is my favorite of the bunch, what i love about the Dishonored games the most was the level design
if you're looking for more action/gunplay, bit of puzzling and looting, then idk ten or twenty bucks to check out Deathloop wouldn't be a bad deal --- "i was thinking of my story...which wasn't very funny. it was about throwing a kid into a recyclable thing full of glass." |

They also just tell you pretty much straight up where to go and when. I don't feel like that undermined the game too much because I just wasn't that interested in the "puzzle" of the visionaries, but that's exactly the problem, it wasn't that interesting in the first place. The shooting and stealth and stuff were fine, but nothing that really makes it stand out in any way turning off the quest/objective markers here is key, without that the game does simply point you where to go lol --- "i was thinking of my story...which wasn't very funny. it was about throwing a kid into a recyclable thing full of glass." |

That is one of my problems with Arkane in general: They are inspired by a lot of immersive sims, but don't implement the concepts fully enough that you end up having all of the choices endemic to them. They give you the illusion of choice, but if you want to beat the game you have to follow the path they determined is the best. Both Dishonored games had that problem, Deathloop has that problem, from what I have heard Prey also had that problem. well that's just flat out not true, even though it's limited, you do have a choice either high chaos, or low chaos, maybe in between if you wanna pussyfoot about it the common complaint here would be that people felt the game would "punish" you by going high chaos, cause it makes the game more difficult on account of more enemies spawning, and the ending being gloom and doom but i felt that was justly so, and i found it rewarding and neat as well - more enemies, more things to fight and kill or needing to be more stealthy around. of course, Dishonored 2 picks a canon ending from the first game, which does take away any agency you might have felt you had in Dishonored 1 Prey has a similar structure as the Dishonored games but Deathloop would be the game that only has the one way to solve/end it so there the complaint is valid that being said, if you enjoyed the Dishonored games at all, or Prey, you'd like Deathloop as well but imo it's the least fun of the bunch, yet there is a lot of fun to be had. cause even though i love Corvo and Emily, Colt and Julianna are wayyy more entertaining --- "i was thinking of my story...which wasn't very funny. it was about throwing a kid into a recyclable thing full of glass." |

I watched Philosopher's Stone last week, too. the bolded part is just actually something the actress said about HP fans in the last week the other stuff is cause your phone is perpetually actively listening to you that's why i always put my phone and tablet in the other room just in case i don't want the alphabet agencies to hear me intensely moan "don't stop daddy" --- "i was thinking of my story...which wasn't very funny. it was about throwing a kid into a recyclable thing full of glass." |
