Im not sure how they do subs; sometimes the sub takes the chair of the member who is out, and sometimes the present members just move forward and the subs are in the back stands. The next step is to keep taking job auditions and go for a permanent spot in an orchestra. | Bananana 04/29/22 1:14:05 PM #13 | I lost my grandma to failed kidneys a couple years back. I was 21 and it was the first major death in my family/friend circle that I had experienced. She lived in our house my whole life and was essentially another parent. I can sympathize with your situation. Its extremely hard, but try to remember as the moments get harder that the fact that you feel so much grief and that so much family is visiting her is a testament to the importance she had to you and them. The body may be going, but what she had to offer lives on in you and others who she had a profound impact on. Thats what got me through - everyone has to die at some point, but the fact that we all left the hospital all remembering the ways in which she had impacted us is what stopped it from being a true tragedy. I think theres nothing more you could hope for than going out of this world leaving pieces of you behind, and it sounds like thats what she did.
