Your point was that MS had competition in the 90s, so Youtube must also be a monopoly.

When I pointed out that the MS case was about them restricting access to competition, you had no rebuttal. You literally can't give a single example of YT having such control but refuse to admit you're wrong.

Being stubborn and opinionated is more important than being informed on the internet and it's fucking annoying.

Because you're doing that thing where dudes on the internet hate admitting they're wrong and just keep digging the hole deeper because they think extending an argument saves face.

Stop bringing up MS restricting the supply of competition because you have literally no example of Youtube doing such a thing.

The issue is more complicated.

...In the MS case, it was. They were using their OS to restrict access to competing software developers.

YouTube does not restrict the supply of video sharing platforms. "MS did thing in the 90s" is a very weird argument to make against... youtube?

There's no but still, you're just wrong. The MS case was about them using their OS to restrict access to competition, thus controlling the supply. YT does no such thing.

Youtube is not a monopoly and being a monopoly has zero relevancy to private services having their own standards. Such a stupid argument.

Control of the supply you mean, of which Youtube has none. You can go to dailymotion right now if you wanted to, try it!

If videos is the only service provided by YT, then why do content creators make videos instead of just watching them?

What the fuck are you talking about lmao

Video sharing platforms are used by people who watch AND create content. There are multiple such services besides Youtube where you can watch AND create content. Is this not simple enough? Youtube is by no definition a monopoly.

No one is dodging your "point" I'm just telling you that your misunderstanding of what a monopoly is doesn't even have anything to do with access to private services.

It provides both, man. For viewers it provides video content. That's correct. There is, however, another type of customer, which is the content creator. They give their time and energy into making content for youtube, and youtube provides the platform for viewers.

...what video sharing platform allows people to upload videos but not watch them? What? All of these platforms allow people to watch AND upload videos. You have no idea what a monopoly is.

And again it's not even relevant to Crowder. Private services can set their own standards.

For a platform like YouTube, the supply is viewers if the consumer is the content creator. So yea, viewership matters in this case.

No, the service Youtube provides is a platform to upload videos. It is not even close to being the only such service, and thus not a monopoly. You are arguing against a definition, stop that.

Not that their market share is even relevant, a private service can set their own standards. Conservative entitlement is not an argument.

I'm not a shut-in so I don't worry about spoilers. You, on the other hand, will always have to cut yourself off from society for months while convincing yourself you're the normal one.

The definition of monopoly doesn't change just because you want it to.

You're actually arguing that Crowder doesn't just have the "right" to use a private platform, but a specific platform. And they have to pay him?

For someone who doesn't like the guy you sure are shilling hard for him.

See the thing is you're the one complaining about everyone else, but trying to pretend you aren't abnormal.

Youtube allows this because no one cares, it's not a spoiler two months later. You can complain all you want that no one is bending over backwards for people who don't want to go to the theatre, aren't on social media and have no friends but nothing is going to change.

There's no way you interact with people or use social media and don't get "spoiled" over the course of two months. It's definitely a weird shut-in thing to expect to live in a bubble like that. The world isn't going to bend over to accommodate your weird lifestyle, get over it.

- a lot of PC games are half assed lazy console ports, unoptimized messes etc

99.9% of games run way better on PCs. When people say a game is a bad port they mean it runs like every console game does.

There's no reason to own a console these days which is why their share of the video game market is declining while PC and Mobile are increasing. It's just more cost effective and convenient to play on PC.
