That's really great, it sounds like you have a good handle on things.

I find that people sometimes underestimate how much kids actually understand. Often times if you stop to explain things, they'll get it. If you make a habit to talk to them like you'd talk to anyone else (within reason) I think it does wonders for how they interact with people and the world around them.
