I worked for the Oregon courts for 5 years. You might be surprised at how little evidence is required for a restraining order. You might also be surprised at how little it takes to charge someone with domestic violence and how biased against men the justice system is in terms of DV cases. DV cases are very often instances of both parties being violent towards one another but only the man gets charged. I once saw a man charged with felony DV assault for cutting his drunk wife's hand when he yanked the keys away from her so she couldn't drive.

I don't disagree with taking guns out of the hands of some people accused of DV, but with some knowledge of the system, it's not hard to see why people would be against guns being taken away from people.

Hey anything to start the trend toward getting rid of the 2nd Amendment is good in my book. Explain again why you need a gun without it being a completely farcical argument that can be negated when I throw the continents of Europe and Australia at you.

Well it's more that the GOP is now two camps you are either a Trump supporter or you are not. The GOP is actually having more infighting than it ever did in the past thanks to Trump, so until Trump takes steps away from politics, or something else drastic happens we will see shit like this.

Trump's goal seems to be turn the GOP into the GOTP for at least the next 20-30 years. Even if he loses the presidency this year or can't run, it seems the GOP will still be divided into these two camps.

If he loses this time he will be too old to run again so it won't matter. He would be 81 years old. No one is going to vote for an 81 year to be president. He would die before making his first decision. Hell (hah, that's funny cuz that's where he's going), he would die before taking the oath.

Doesn't really matter as long as 26 million people over 65 are still watching. Sure they will all eventually die off but they are still ratings for now.

The scary thing is he can still run from prison and win.

Even if he were to win (which it is extremely likely he won't) how in the hell would you expect him to perform his duties from a prison cell? They would likely redo the election if that were to happen. Yeah, all those stupid Rethuglicans would be angry but the judges (when the expected lawsuits show up) would just tell them to fuck off for allowing a prisoner on the ballot.

Your problem with this is that Konami is known to be a completely shit company. I guarantee you that Sutherland was brought in by Konami and not Kojima. Konami also likely had editorial rights on the story and likely forced the story to be as shit as it was.
