lucas did NOT plan out the entire series ahead of time it was all written by the seat of his pants

and he barely wrote empire strikes back or return of the jedi he gave a extrema rough draft to the actual writer

he did write the PT thoe and wrote each film just before they started shooting it was a mess and the people working with him hated it do to his inability to plan

people had all the same complaints about the PT when it was new

the ST was very successful and the cahracters are beloved by the majority of fans

keep in mind its only a small minority who reads teh books and all that

and the old EU was a cluster fucked mess it had to be thrown out it had like 3 different explantions for the death star plans

oh and the boogeyman of star wars fans kathleen kenndy she is is involved with the mandalorian

they are not going to retcon away the ST or any of those other tin foil hat theories

There is no extended cut. It's probably just a second copy of it that was created when Movies Anywhere started. The runtime matches the 1998 Godzilla, but it's more likely that's just the included extras. Amazon doesn't do separate links and just adds it to the end of the movie.

For something like an OS it's natural for a monopoly to rise.

Creating a full kernel and then an OS on top of it is no small feat and requires massive amounts of time and funding.

That being said, it would be nice to see maybe something like government grants get doled out in the aims of funding alternative development.

Competition is healthy for the market and companies would need a large source of seed funding to accomplish their goals.
