Short term capital gains tax is just your income tax rate right? How long have you been unemployed? If for most of this year, you might not even have much tax to pay cause your income is so low. If you've made no income from a job this year, you'd just be paying income tax on whatever your crypto gains are for the year.

If you withdraw your 401k, you're paying that income tax + 10% penalty right off the bat.

This may be true. I just know my heart will hurt so bad if I see that I withdraw the crypto and then the crypto surge happens and I look at what my account would have been if I kept everything and is deep into the 6 figure range or more

That's a situation I'm really worried about and don't want to experience

I hit the year mark around January 2025. Also if I withdraw in 2025 I won't have to pay taxes until 2026.

I mainly have just bought and held. I try to do as little trading as possible. In recent months I haven't bought at all though due to not having any income

Yeah even though they'd help me out with a little here and there. They try to pay their bills, but all in all I've basically been the financial safety net for when they are short and it's been killing me for a while. A long with my own responsibilities

One of the apartments is the family home I grew up in, and the second is time that my Sister was recently able to move into. The good things is that the rent is very low and it's rent stabilized in NYC (Rent is $800 a month). I payed the first month and security deposit for her to be able to move in as well as helped her with the paperwork to be able to qualify for it. So now my Sister and my two nieces have a much more hospitable home to live in.

The other apartment that my Sister and I grew up in that out Mother passed down to us, my Nephew (32) currently lives in. It's a one bedroom apartment. Before getting the new apartment they all were living there and it wasn't the best living situation. That costs about $950 a month

My own rent is $1700 a month. We all live in NYC

Recently they've been able to come through with the rent more often but I'm general when things are short I'm the one that steps up to cover it. That's how it's been since 2018 when my Mother passed away

That's not too say I haven't made my own irresponsible decisions, but it's also harder if I have to be mindful for myself and others

About a month or two ago my same crypto savings was at about $105K total.

So it's really the potential growth that I'm worried about missing out on

The 401K on the other hand is valuation has mostly been stagnant for the last 4 years. What I have in it is primarily from my contributions and employer matching

So that's why I'm debating it right now.

I'm the other hand I know how volatile crypto can be as well on the negative side to so I also understand the idea that I should withdraw from that instead

I was also thinking maybe withdraw an even percentage from everything both the 401K accounts and the Crypto. The main thing holding me back is tax implications and penalties. I'm anxious about that. And once I do withdraw I'll be in the hook for whatever those penalties are

Lifestyle creep during my time of employment, plus support family members in terms of their rent and bills. Once I lost the job the debt began to snowball

Wait, how much of that 75k is crypto gains and how much is money you actually put into it.

I don't think 69k in 401k cashed out would not be enough to cover 56k in debt when you factor in all the taxes and early withdrawal penalties.

Maybe get a debt consolidation loan instead?

Can you take a loan from your 401K instead? That way you wouldn't be hit with the early withdrawal tax and the money would eventually be replaced.

And yeah, just sell the crypto. Didn't see that post.

From speaking to an advisor, I don't believe I can because I'm not employed. I have to have active employment and the funds would have to be rolled into one 401k before I can take out a loan on it

So my other strategy was to do my best to find employment and then I can start making payments towards the debt or even use the 401K loan strategy. But that's easier said than done. Who knows how long I'll be without a job if places aren't hiring

I also have about $75000 in Crypto I can use as well but it's so unpredictable and the next few months / year is expected to be a bull run so I'm worried about potentially stunting myself if I sell any of it prematurely

Is that debt all on one card? or do you have multiple cards with various amounts? Do the snowball method (pay smallest first regardless of interest rates etc)

I haven't calculated exactly, however if I don't have any income at the moment and the debt keeps ballooning, I figure I'd be better off just paying it all off. Locking down all the cards so that I don't use them. Then working out my day to day expenses on potential unemployment that should be coming through soon and any other means I can scratch for myself

I've been debating this.

Currently I'm also unemployed. So I don't have significant cash flow to begin paying off the debt. I'm hoping for my unemployment to be approved soon so I can at least have a way to reliably pay my bills.

Don't know what I should do to proceed. I feel like at least with all my debts payed off I'll say least have a decent credit score

And maybe in due time in can find a job and rebuild my retirement savings accounts. I'm an unemployed Software Developer right now

I honestly credit this game not having the Buu arc as a reason why I like it the least of the main story arcs.

I played this game so much as a kid that saiyan saga to cell saga WAS dragon ball z to me. The Buu saga did not exist and the series ended with cell.

So when i eventually discovered i was missing an entire part of the story, it just felt grafted on and artificial to me. Crazy how your perception of something as a kid can inform some opinions for the rest of your life

I had similar feelings of the serious ending at Cell Saga, but I looked at the Buu Saga content as secret exclusives that I hadn't gotten access to yet. I still liked it a lot, especially Kid Buu one of my favorite villains. I also was a big fan of Gotenks when he was revealed even though he disappointed me. Super Vegito and Super Saiyan 3 Goku were cool too. And Super Buu was just scary

Overall I guess I still liked the Buu Saga Even though the Cell Saga seemed like a logical series end

Not in Budokai 1 actually. They added that ability in Budokai 2. You have to do the full punch combo in 1

Looking at an online tournament for this game, it's really right. Like Tekken Ball Z. I like the game play. And the combos aren't infinitely long like in Budokai 3 either

I've had similar experiences and other experiences as well with them become possessive, rude and shady etc

But I've also had a lot of great experiences as well.

A lot of them don't have any actual tech knowledge about the roles they're doing staffing for so they sometimes ask those types of questions in repeat. I'd say go with giving as detailed a response as possible and be polite
