Ive met plenty of people who work from home even longer than they did when going into work. Their employer assumes because they are at home they arent busy and a typical 8-5 day turns into a 5:30am to 7:30pm day, because you have a conference call at 8am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm. And you have to be up by 5:30 to prepare shit for the meeting at 8am. Its this instead of one or two in person meetings in a day.

So basically no real industry is getting fucked minus smaller gyms but many of the employees are going to be fucked without their jobs back or their jobs got much shittier and less enjoyable.

So why are more people spending more money now than ever in materialism despite being "unemployed"?

Their online store is thriving, but not their retail. If anything, they'll consider closing all retail stores and keeping their online store open just like Circuit City.
