| Zaltera 11/26/21 9:28:37 AM #5 | The 3060 is better if you care about ray tracing and will probably work pretty well in the more recent games that have DLSS support, but it falls behind in general rasterization. The games with DLSS and ray tracing are a drop in the bucket compared to the PC library and your friend will probably want to upgrade at least one more time before that really changes. It's not that the 3060 is bad or anything but that the 1080 Ti was an absolute monster when it was released. It's a little like upgrading from the 10900K to the 11900K. The 3060 likely costs more than the 1080 Ti did but is only trading blows. If I had a 1080 Ti and it was still functioning properly, I would consider it a waste of my money to get a 3060 now.
