I'm convinced you are just trolling and regret actually posting srs stuff in this topic. the point acemos is trying to make (honestly, I never thought that Id be backing up acemos) is that ultimately the decision needs to be your nephews. while Im sure that in this situation you want the very best for your nephew, this is a decision that will fundamentally alter their life. Every aspect of their life will be altered. At the very least, this needs to be brought before your nephew, even as a courtesy. one of the problems the autistic community faces is that we have advocates who claim to speak for us (looking at you, autism speaks) without actually letting us represent ourselves in any meaningful way. |

And you know how regular therapy tries to make it easier and to help limit these problems?Ultimately therapy is a coping mechanism designed to foster growth. Comparing autism to a tumour is tantamount to saying that that the part of the brain responsible for autism should be cut out and removed. Surely, calling for the lobotomy of anyone with autism is objectively not a good stance to take. |

Hes personable enough, hes just a little awkward. now the second issue is this chip isnt going to magically teach someone how to fit in with society. how do you propose to teach someone the social skills they need to thrive when youve got a blank slate? |
