It will help your personal protection and be in your benefit to get. The only person it probably really benefits is you, I do not think its required by any agencies but Id recommend it if you would like to avoid bad symptoms. Also anecdotally the third shot did not make me feel sick too bad like my second one did. A bit of a fever, probably shouldnt have tried to write school essays during it but otherwise fine.

you saw where I asked him to confirm the girl he got pregnant was his sister and he didnt reply right? He very well may do what you said because I believe he did get that girl pregnant- it just isnt his sister. So all of this fits his a narrative of letting the story lean that way without ever lying by saying it himself. If he posts the pic you request, it will not prove it is his sister, just that he knocked said girl up.

I also agree the the price hikes are mostly pure greed. Insurance and maybe property taxes can go up, but repairs and shit should happen infrequently and be saved for out of the typical monthly rent, unless the landlord is renting out a shitty place or doesnt understand their responsibility.
I bought my house recently and have roommates that effectively cover my mortgage at this time. I do not earn a profit, but do not have to pay anything towards the house besides improvements/repairs. We have not been here a full year and Ive put in more than a full year of mortgage on those things already. Thats part of owning the house and Im grateful Ive had this opportunity to be able to make improvements constantly and often so the house can be in better shape for longer.

It may be too late now, but rent hikes are often negotiable. It seems that in most situations, a landlords would prefer to keep a steady, rent paying tenant in even if it means less of an increase, than spend time potentially not having a tenant/ needing to repair and repaint every year, etc.
when renting I was often able to get a $100 or so monthly increase down to $20-30, still an increase but it makes a big difference

If you have a sleeping disorder, getting it treated will change your life. Please reconsider if your healthcare provider thinks you might have one. Sleep medicine is a relatively new discipline and its importance often sounds ridiculous or strange, but it's something that medicine can generally help with and it provides numerous benefits as you keep up with treatment.
it was a casual offering on my drs part, I have many known reasons to not sleep well (environment, pain, and mood related). I would have been interested if not for the cost, unfortunately I am American so it wasnt actually much of an option. In the future if I can manage the other reasons and still find myself having issues, I will be sure to remember the advice, I appreciate it :)

TC- Im going through similar issues with legitimate roommates who do pay rent but signed a contract about house rules (it is my house). Its hard to know when its fair to put your foot down on small issues, but sometimes if you dont, you get ran over. You seem to understand that there are lots of nuances you cant predict when bringing in someone new, and while I agree all the things you said seem like common sense, I guess unfortunately not everyone had the same one. I have a roommate that still leaves the door unlocked after being reminded many times in the last 8ish months, to the point that for my own peace of mind I bought a coded door lock that has an auto lock feature.
I think the house meeting was the best way to put your additional rules out there, and that you shouldnt feel bad to continue to enforce those. I disagree with these asshats saying you arent actually being kind- I know you arent telling him every day be sure to pick up your socks since Ive been so generous to you! A house guest should be respectful and as unobtrusive as possible, not out of feelings of superiority/inferiority, but as respect to a person opening their home. Its good manners. If staying an extended (or in this case, unknown) amount of time, I can see them getting a little more comfortable but most people in that situation would still go out of their way to seem like they are contributing to the household. Again- these are common expectations, so since you said yall had a not so great childhood, its possible his behaviors arent matching what you were hoping for due to just an actual knowledge gap, which is all the more reason to freely voice what you need to.
Ultimately, in the same way that no one made you offer up your place, he also isnt required to stay. If he doesnt like being told what to do, hell figure out a place to go or figure out how to not piss you off- I dont mean that like a threat, its just realistically the only options there (beyond also you telling him to leave, which seems unnecessary at this moment).
I also would be upset about the asking your bf for a ride thing, but I think thats a different instinct. Its your friend that you invited in, youre probably a little more sensitive to the intrusions on your bf than those on yourself. You dont want your friend to make your bf feel uncomfortable, and even if he is not feeling that way, you may feel more protective of that (thats how Ive dissected my feelings to be at least, about an almost identical situation)
good luck to you and him! Break ups are tough, you were nice to reach out and offer some kind of respite.

Thats normal. Youre supposed to give them time to make adjustments due to you not being available to work.
That makes sense if you work in the afternoon perhaps. If you work at like 6-9 am, chances are its not gonna happen. And fun other concept- the manager isnt going to be awake that early, and neither is anyone that could come in to cover.

Yes.

I'd like to know if you can spread the virus before a test can even detect that you have the virus, or if those two things are more or less simultaneous.
To my knowledge, incubation is the time it takes for symptoms to begin, and viral load is increasing during this time. The time to become measurable, and to begin shedding cells (becoming contagious) is pretty close to the same. I have known people to test positive before having symptoms, and then show symptoms the next day, I have known people with symptoms test negative,
come back two days later and be positive. Im assuming some of that is test sensitivity, collection adequacy, and the persons viral load, but as a general- you start becoming contagious about when you can test positive. I am not a doctor or MLS so I could be wrong, and delta may have a different pattern, but thats what I had come to understand.
But you only test positive if you go take a test.

adding after post- I feel like two days before symptoms was the consensus before delta- that you could be contagious for about two days beforehand. As for that corresponding when you can actually test positive, I dont know because you often dont come in to test until you have symptoms unless you know you were exposed, so Ill stick to what I said above.

Can you spread the disease without testing positive for it?

Aren't there fast tests that can get you results within minutes?

is the first question in good faith and made with the understanding that my context is that testing is not a substitution for vaccination, only a means to support a covid 19 diagnosis?

let me tell you some fun rapid-test history Ive experienced :)
in 2020 we didnt receive our first rapid test instruments until June or so? Less than a month after, the kits were so back logged we only received them sporadically through the next few months which meant that we obviously kept those reserved for priority triage, until they stopped producing that brand in lets say November. But we received them so with no reliability anyways, it kind of was relieving.
A few months prior to them discontinuing, we got ID Now machines (which is what I believe most Walgreens and such are using when they advertise their rapid tests). This is not a PCR test and is significantly less sensitive. We very quickly realized this and had to set up a system: we did not use these tests for patients without symptoms. A false negative in an instance such as this could cause great harm, whereas a patient that has symptoms should be staying home regardless of test results, and also may be recommended to come back and test again since incubation period blah blah. The second thing we specifically had to put in place with ID Nows was if it did come back positive, we had to re-run it through a secondary means before reporting, so hopefully the other rapid kit was available. We had to do it this way because that test was constantly spitting out inconclusive or conflicting results. This is why I tell ALL my friends to only trust rapid tests from the ER, not Walgreens. The turnaround times for both those mentioned so far is about 30 mins give or take.
Earlier this year we finally got reliable rapids in the lab. We had three machines. Three. Turn around time was a little shorter, closer to 20 than to 30, so thats great- we can spit out 9 whole tests an hour. So again, these were only for highest level triage. I think at our max, we had 5 machines? Every time theyd give us 2-3, theyd immediately take 1-2 to give to an ER clinic, and we ran them into the ground so fast, thered always be one waiting to be fixed. So at this point, hopefully yes, there are rapids available in some ERs. But in our lab, just expect itll be 12-24 hrs before a result.

Not sure how nurses can see people dying right in front of them from the coronavirus and be like "nah I'm good on that vaccine." Absolute morons.
I dont have stats to back me up, but its not the people working in the covid wards, icu, or Er that are refusing the vaccines. They know better. there are way more many departments that dont deal with it directly than that do. I will say with it being so extremely contagious, most nurses have probably seen patients with it, but if they had death or complications, been able to put it off to their other reasons for being in the hospital in their heads. There are still medical professionals that believe this is a hoax somehow. These are the people that need removed anyways, so if they arent getting vaccd, then bye.

Yeah, I believe the vaccine is currently the best option, that's why I endorse it.
And that's different than endorsing a mandate.
Also I don't see the harm in way more covid testing.
Hi, Worked as an assistant in molecular infectious disease lab in a very good hospital for 16 months of covid (been away since august, will be going back shortly).
if youre being tested and come back positive, you have had the disease for many days at this point.
Testing is often backlogged, taking a full 24 hrs to report, adding to how long you may be out in public with it. Like the nurse shortage, we also have a national MLS (med lab scientist) shortage, which is why hospitals are offering $10k sign on bonuses right now. I can only speak for my lab but the turnover of staff there was large- they all got so burnt out from the high volume and mandatory overtime. The lab, prior to covid, was 7 days a week but not 24 hr. It had to step up to being a 24 hr lab last March and has never been able to keep up with staffing since.
Also, if youll remember last summer where there was a medical supply crisis, when drs couldnt get gloves and masks and whatever else youve heard- add in reagents for the labs, supplies for the machines that process the tests- the machines themselves that typically last for years, but are being burned out in 6 months due to the continuous use, the repairmen for those, and the labor to support the lab activities even besides the MLSs (needed them to count on voluntary assistance from people in outside departments to do something as simple as aliquoting for literally 24 hrs a day).
Everytime they are overrun with tests, there is a system to triage out in place, but since we cover 9 hospital systems, nurses and collectors often do not triage correctly, meaning patients that usually need rush testing have their specimens placed among the 1200 (or however many) other specimen that may be in our lab or specimen receiving or still with a courier with no way to track it.
What is very humbling, since I am not a dr not patient facing, is to get calls like can you please rush x,xs test? They are not a patient but trying to visit their family member in the ER that is not going to make it, wed really like to let them say goodbye and theres not much time and it literally be impossible for us to do so.
so yeah, more tests as a preventive seems simple and fun until you realize it takes resources from situations that do better in a system with not an insanely high volume of tests at every given second. Just get the vaccine. If you get it and are symptomless, between not sneezing your covid everywhere and wearing a mask, its something. Tests are not preventative, they are a diagnostic measure.
