Yep thats in the planning stages. Ive worked out how I need to live for the most part so now its just a matter of saving up especially now that my job got spooked into giving us a living wage. (10 people walking out over a 30 cent raise will do that)

If im lucky I might be in by february but Im anticipating it to be whenever i get my tax refund, as by then I should be able to cover anything.

Some on 261 get really upset that I am both homeless and highly vocal about my political opinions.

Sometimes so upset that they try to either just world fallacy me into submission, or just straight up call me a liar.

So, you tell me, am I not homeless sleeping in mulch behind the bushes at my job? Am i enjoying too much luxury because I can come argue politics on gamefaqs when I have nothing to better to do but wait to go back to work?

Originally it was because I was fleeing an abusive relationship 5 years ago.

But I was also very poor with no safety net to speak of so.

I climbed out of it twice to be fair, but the jobs fell out from under me and there wasnt much to be done when you blow all your savings on getting into place just to have your income disappear. And the last time that happened was just before COVID to boot.

I think it says a lot about me given what I think of this. This was STS 61b and youre seeing the ACCESS half of the EASE/ACCESS experiment that was meant to test orbital construction techniques.

First off, its awesome to actually see even a simple structure actually be built in space rather than just delivered there.

But then they go buck wild and take it out of the cargo bay to twirl the big thing (its 45 feet long and a couple hundred pounds) around with their hands.

Its amazing and this is what really made me fall in love with the Space Shuttle. Flags and boots on the Moon and Mars are overrated.

Give me this any day.

Incidentally the post flight presentations are awesome to watch in of themselves. Most people dont really know the full scope of what the Shuttles were doing up there and only know the most flashy parts when you end up missing the really cool shit that doesnt make the news.

It was 14, and they died because of negligence and a permanent program-long lack of funding that made substantive safety upgrades effectively impossible.

The Russians didnt start their Shuttle program until 3 years after we did.

But they did design a better one.

This is a design known as OK-92 which was the first derivative of OK-120, which was just a direct copy of the American design.

Here is where they opted to eschew the main engines attached to the orbiter (as they werent going to have reusable hydrogen engines anytime soon anyway), and in so doing were able to do a lot of things to improve the design.

Most obvious are the included jet engines, but not so obvious is the wing mass (and thus TPS and structural as well) that was saved in addition to an actual abort system, which is what you see nestled into the rear fuselage.

This design was not only lighter than the American design and even the eventual Buran design that proceeded it, but it was more capable.

As it no longer needed to glide unpowered, it could trade wing mass for jet engines that would extend its range past the 1000nm cross-range that the Americans were getting, and in turn this would have had knock-on effects saving infrastructure and logistical costs as it would be able to land and take off from any conventional runway of suitable size.

In turn, as it had an abort system, it was obviously a similar safer design than the American Shuttle, but with the launcher being fully liquid instead of using Solids, you had additional safety.

And all the while, you're getting more payload to orbit too.

But sadly politics sucks and what would eventually be Buran was the result of a forced requirement to copy the Space Shuttle in design rather than in capabilities.

Is homeless homeless different than just normal homeless?

I used to have a car to sleep in.

Hilariously like a week after it happened my job decided to get a clue and bumped our pay up so people dont quit, so eventually im going to be better off now that I have a livable wage.

But its still unlikely thatll I be able to do anything until tax time. Its even harder to save money now given the circumstances but even then, for what I need to do I need to be able to put down a lot because I cant be too far away from my job otherwise Im just going to keep hemmoraghing money so yeah, not until I can get a refund in.

But, I did start writing my first book so theres that. Still not fun and dear god have I never been this constantly sore in my life.
