When Dog first got his TV show I thought he was pro wrestler DDP doing a new gimmick.

It wasn't a pitbull, it was a 6 month old boxer. In my experience they aren't typically aggressive, they just jump a lot and may knock over children or frail adults. Sounds like a case of the mom being afraid of dogs.
