the first half or so of spectre feels the closest Craig ever got to an older style
of bond movie honestly. Its got a sense of fun to it none of the other ones ever attempt

the moment it hits the second half though its just a downhill trip and from blofelds compound onwards its wheels fly off and it careens off a cliff

I cant remember the last time I actually used the like or dislike bar to decide whether to watch a video or not. The only time i ever noticed it is when people were talking about dislike bombing videos in the comments section, in which case good come up with something funny to say about how much the video sucks instead

Ive always been willing to give 1 a lot of leeway because it was the first game in the series but 2 just doesnt do anything interesting in my opinion. The only reason its worth playing is because it introduces Chloe. Id go as far as to say I enjoy 2 less than 1,3 and 4

3 is a weird game because it unequivocally has the best setpieces in the whole series in the form of stuff like the mansion fire and the sand city at the end, but outside of that it's not very good on a technical level. The original release had a lot of weird glitchy problems and the rerelease didn't fix them at all. Weird framerate shit, broken animations, and really bad gunplay that feels like it was actively done wrong which Naughty Dog came out and attempted to claim it was "broken on purpose." And hey, maybe it was, because they fixed 1 and 2's shitty aiming system but they did nothing for 3.

2 might not reach the crazy bombastic levels of 3 from a visual standpoint, but like 95% of the game is the best gunfights in the whole series. It only really falls apart at the very end

fwiw i dont think at all that the movie sets her up as appearing in anything else. i feel like we've seen the last of the craig era and most of its characters. like i can maybe see them carrying over Mallory as M for example, but I would be shocked if they did any more than that

NTTD feels like a farewell to those movies overarching story

hes hounding for attention, but generally the people who internet dudes complain about is Nomi, the new 007, who spends the entire movie basically having everything she attempts to do undermined by Bond until the point where she literally goes "I give up you can be 007 again"

like literally all she does the entire movie is kill the comedic relief secondary villain lol

i legit want to know why people think DMC1 is the high point of the series? like not even in a mean way, its just a really weird opinion. The combat is incredibly simplistic compared to all the other ones, it's got very little weapon or enemy variety, bad platforming segments and in general has always just felt like something not entirely solidified to me. Very cool atmosphere to it though

Not simply by today's standards, Lovecraft was considered extremely racist for his time. Robert E. Howard (Conan) and others tried to get him to tone it down and tried to help him get published but he wouldn't change. He was basically broke when he died (ill health and mental illness didn't help either).

Shame because when he stuck to 'cosmic horror' - a genre he created - there's some good stuff there.

It's insanely funny to me that Robert E Howard of all people was made uncomfortable by it because the original Conan is some of the most uncomfortable stuff I've ever read with regards to race. Modern Conan media largely abandoned the worst aspects, but in its initial stages Hyborian Age was basically a gigantic race war, everyone's behavior was dictated by their race and there are even allusions to less fair skinned people being the descendants of ancient demons

Lovecraft was on a pathological level with it though. A weird combination of new england backwardness crashing into whatever mental problems he had and creating something awful

i was unaware of the connections people were drawing to rick and morty before watching it and was just confused by them after because there's very little of that in it. maybe if you only watched the first episode you could get that

that episode and the second one as well are probably the weakest of the bunch, but after those two it's a fun ride. the james bond riff episode especially was really funny
