It's also another thing to note that Church attendance has been going on a downward spiral, and this was happening even before the pandemic happened. What this shows is that people who identify as Christian in name is still stabilizing but "practicing" Christians are dying out. No one wants to spend hours of their time on a sunday to listen to a hypocrite preaching to the crowd.

You have the wrong idea of what Christianity is if you think churchgoers see pastors as more than a peer. Yes, they preach of things people should strive for. Would you be comfortable taking advice from someone claiming to be perfect?

I think a lot of people could really benefit from reading the bible. Its not going to control you, and you will have a richer understanding of western culture and the reasons Christianity is practiced as it is today.

You should also look into the work your local church has done for the less fortunate.

Someone sold it to me as "it's a metroidvania with pokemon" and so I was really expecting something like Dawn of Sorrow where the creatures were used as abilities. So, like, equipping a flying monster gets you double jump and stuff like that. Once I realized it was just a straight up pokemon game but as a 2d platformer I just kind of stopped caring.
