Besides the fact there are plenty of languages that do pronounce it the other way around, the written format doesn't have to correspond to the pronunciation anyway. 09/05 is pronounced September Fifth, not Oh Nine Forward Slash Oh Five.

Same with 24h time format, nothing is preventing you from pronouncing 20:30 as Eight Thirty PM.

Wow. You can't be trusted at all lol. That interpretation is completely inside of your own head. He never said you can't have complaints about America.

There is a big difference between saying "don't complain" and "keep your complaints I perspective" and many people, you included, have no ability to understand the difference between the two statements.
Oh fuck off. He makes it quite obvious in this video that he thinks the complaints aren't valid and he wants them to stop. He literally says:
All you do is bitch about and badmouth your country. If you knew about the country I came from, you'd stop shitting on your own.
Granted these were not his words but the words of (allegedly) almost all immigrants in every conversation he's ever had with them, because apparently Bill Maher never talks to immigrants from Canada or Europe or something.

Except, that isn't at all the argument. That is your straw man interpretation. Complain, but have some perspective is the argument.
That's exactly his argument. It's the whole reason he lists awful things happening abroad. He mentions Honduras' murder rate to make America's seem not so bad in comparison. It is bad and people are right to criticize it. Just because journalists get murdered in countries doesn't make it acceptable for an American president to incite hatred against them. People absolutely have the right to complain about these things.

In fact it's Maher himself who's basing this whole section on a straw man: "... current woke ideology is that America is rotten to the core, irredeemably racist from the moment it was founded and so oppressive, sexist and homophobic we can't find a host for the Oscars or Jeopardy". He's making some hyperbolic caricature of what he calls woke ideology and attacks that instead of addressing any actual criticism.

With ~60% of the population fully vaccinated, that means 3.7 million people still vulnerable and that's plenty for the virus to keep spreading.

If you want to use this data to say something meaningful about the vaccines, it's probably more useful to look at hospitalizations and deaths instead of cases - and more importantly how many of them were fully vaccinated. The article in post #8 mentions a daily sample where <9% of the severe cases in Israel were fully vaccinated. That definitely speaks in favor of the vaccines.

Oh wait.
Underestimating the costs is not the same as deciding not to do maintenance on their house. The article doesn't support your claim at all, the maintenance work is still getting done.

Also, let's not pretend maintenance is free for renters. They are still the ones paying for it, either through service fees or it's calculated as part of the rent. Either they pay the landlord who pays the plumber, or they pay the plumber directly themselves: the end result is the same.

I'll put it simply to you.
None of you in this thread own a home.
Baseless assumption and unnecessarily condescending.

But as it doesn't fit your all landlords are bad narrative
I've haven't said such a thing at all. All I'm saying is the maintenance argument is a weak one. If you're going to quote me at least respond to my words instead of imagining things.

Goddamn it was in response to someone else's argument.
Lots of people who own their own houses don't keep up with repairs since they're the ones paying for them.
Which is one of the main benefits of renting rather than owning.
Keeping houses maintained and doing running repairs that otherwise wouldn't be done creates jobs for people to do this.
Pretty simple really.
You literally just said that the demand doesn't change in post 158. Which is it?

Either way, I don't think what you're stating here is true at all. There are plenty landlords who are neglectful when it comes to maintenance. If anything I'd argue people are more likely to get a faucet fixed in the home they live in rather than in a house they rent out to someone else.

It's also not much of a benefit if a tenant pays their landlord for maintenance instead of hiring someone directly. The plumber is getting paid either way.
