I dont actually have an iPad. I use my Z fold to as my tablet, and it serves me pretty well. This 12.9 inch one strikes me as being in a weird spot of being too big to be a tablet but in OS features to be a laptop replacement.

It's nice to be able to use another thing besides my phone to surf something so I don't constantly destroy my battery. Plus, a folding phone just isn't something that interests me atm.

Hopefully she/you continue to enjoy it, and then get totally sucked into the ecosystem as well. One of us, one of us...

I will say, it's nice to be able to also use it as a bigger phone screen when surfing the web and whatnot. I don't use it for when I'm posting on things, but if I just want to browse Reddit/CE, it's really nice. Also use mine for any of the mobile games that I play for the bigger screen.

You think you guys are gonna use yours as like a computer TC? Or just more of a fun toy?

There are other GPS-trackers out there.

None of them are made by a company the size of Apple and therefore, those stories dont gain the traction that saying Apple made does.

People have been stalking others with devices for years and the only ones that get posted now are AirTag stories. And again, yeah, theyre not perfect and can be abused. But people are just shitting on them because lolApple and whatnot.

Part of the problem I think is just how damn discrete an AirTag is. Maybe something a little bulkier or thicker might make it less likely to be abused in this way.

They also chirp when not in range of devices with the same registered Apple ID.

I mean yeah, they arent perfect and its incredibly shitty that people are using them to stalk people, but AirTags are literally only getting news because people know Apple. They dont know Tile or other GPS-locating devices/companies so that doesnt get the same traction as Apple device tracking people!

AirTags are the only ones that make the news, but there are tons of tracking devices for lost items out there that people can slip into others peoples shit.

At least a decent size of the market has an Apple product, so its easier to catch unwanted AirTags following you. Cant say the same for shit like Tile and whatnot, that doesnt have the username to a) help find your stuff and b) have the ability to tell if one of them is following you or not.

Manager for a place on a college campus.

Pretty nice being a state job, get some built in breaks with classes being out and whatnot, fairly stable.

Only thing that sucks is my bosses are dicks.

And extremely long story short about why my bosses didn't want to give me one, is because one of our old co-workers put in a fake complaint about me sleeping with a student and giving her benefits and whatnot. My direct boss and one of the bosses in question asked me and her about it and we both literally said the same thing so it got dropped and nothing happened besides just talking about the policy. When my boss in a later meeting brought up my low af salary, they cited said incident as a reason to not raise my salary. Oh, and to make matters worse, we started dating around that time and then 2 months later, she died after a month in the hospital. Let's just say my boss was uh, not happy that they thought it was a good idea to bring that up.

Congrats. How'd you get the raise if your bosses didn't want you to? Did they tell you they didn't want you to get it?

Part of it was because I needed to be slightly raised because they raised the min wage for my state to be eligible/not eligible for OT and since my wage was so low, it was already at the minimum (they already had to raise it once because of that before). But the rest of it is because I was the lowest paid manager by a decent amount and the only one with the degree that goes with said job.

I mean, there's others that def should make more than me based on experience alone, but I shouldn't have been at the bottom of the rung.

If I've heard correctly, Ubisoft+ is not coming to Gamepass like EA is a part of Gamepass.

But Rainbow Siege Extraction will be on Gamepass on day one.
