After a teenage influencer and star of Netflixs recent reality show Hype House accused his former collaborator of aggressively sexually pursuing him and groping him without his consent, she denied the claims in a statement given to NBC News.

In a YouTube video posted Thursday, Jack Wright, who has 8.9 million followers on TikTok, accused his former collaborator, Sienna Mae Gomez, of violating his boundaries and repeatedly physically forcing herself on him. He said Gomez broke into his house and his room on multiple occasions to take advantage of him while he slept.

The accusations against Gomez first surfaced on Twitter on May 30, when a mutual friend accused her of sexually assaulting Wright numerous times and telling Wright to kill himself.

Gomez denied them in a YouTube video posted two days later. She said Wright misled her.

Wright also addressed a TikTok video another friend posted in June 2021 that depicted Wright lying incapacitated on a couch in November 2020. Wright said that he had passed out and that his brother and friends had to pull Gomez off him to get her to stop touching his crotch.

In his YouTube video, Wright said Gomezs response was typical gaslighting. Looking back, he said, Wright stayed friends with Gomez only because he believed she would change her behavior.

Wright then went on to allege inappropriate encounters with Gomez that he said occurred offline. In one case, he said, Gomez straddled him on his bed, unprompted, while she was naked. Wright said Gomez tried to kiss him while he said Sienna, stop, and get off. He said it took a couple tries to separate himself from Gomez.

McDonald's has announced big Valentine's Day plans.

The fast-food giant is bringing its McPlant burger to 600 locations in the San Francisco Bay and Dallas-Fort Worth areas starting Feb. 14, according to a statement from the company on Thursday.

The patty, developed in partnership with Beyond Meat, is served on a sesame seed bun with lettuce, tomato, onions and American cheese, and it is topped with ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard.

"It has the iconic taste of a McDonald's burger, because it is one," McDonald's said ahead of the menu item's initial launch.

The announcement comes at a time when several other of the nation's biggest fast-food chains have been expanding their offerings to include more plant-based menu items.

Burger King launched its Impossible Whopper, a burger built with a plant-based patty, in August 2019. And other fast-food giants have joined the meatless movement this month.

Last week, KFC debuted a plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken nationwide, for a limited time. The company says it was the first quick service restaurant in the U.S. to introduce plant-based chicken when it piloted the product in Atlanta in August 2019, according to a press release.

In the first week of January, Chipotle added plant-based chorizo to menus across the country. The chorizo is combined with chipotle peppers, tomato paste and paprika. The product is free of preservatives, grains, gluten and soy.

Fast food aside, demand for plant-based proteins are on the rise. A Bloomberg Intelligence report predicts sales of these alternative protein sources to increase fivefold by 2030.

Restaurants saved 700K animals with plant-based offerings last year. More options are coming in 2022.

According to a 2018 Gallup poll the demand for meat alternatives at restaurants is rising as meat-eaters also test out options.

A 2021 survey from Piplsay found that 71% of the 30,700 people polled said they'd heard of plant-based meat substitutes at fast-food restaurants. Of those, 54% had tried the alternatives, 72% of whom identified as meat-eaters.

"Restaurants are definitely trying to meet this rising demand for plant-based products by offering more meat alternatives on their menus," Maha Bazzi, farming campaign manager at World Animal Protection, US, told USA TODAY. "The industry is expected to stay the course in 2022 as meat alternatives evolve and become more widely accessible."

Restaurant chains' use of meat alternatives in 2021 saved the equivalent of more than 700,000 animals 212,000 pigs, 92,000 cows and 405,000 chickens, according to new research from World Animal Protection, a global animal welfare nonprofit organization.

"Looking ahead to 2022, we know that in this category, its not enough to just have any plant-based product in the market now. You have to prove to people that you have better products," Woodside wrote in a statement to USA TODAY. "We did that last year with our Impossible Chicken Nuggets, Impossible Pork, and Impossible Sausage products all of which were found by the majority of consumers to be as good as or better than the respective animal-based products in recent taste tests."

Meat industry leaders are working to keep pace, too.

Tyson Foods expanded its meatless options in 2021 to include plant-based burger patties and bratwurst, while Perdue has explored "flexitarian" options with chicken nuggets made combination with cauliflower, chickpeas and plant protein alongside plant-based chicken nugget options.

"The plant-based food industry is showing no signs of slowing down," Bazzi said. "Some of the biggest meat companies are trying to keep up by introducing their own lines of plant-based products."
