I don't know what you think a store shopper does but it's the same as an order picker at a warehouse and they make up towards $24 an hour. It's basically on the higher end of customer service as you deal directly with customers. There's a lot more to it than just stocking bags and if you're friend says there wasn't well he has no idea what he's talking about or he lied to you

it is not the same as an order picker.

Each person gets an order from a customer. They put the chilled items with other chilled items in regular shopping bags. Same thing with frozen and shelf stable items. Then they stage the bags. A driver comes and delivers them and thats it. If the item a customer wants is not found they offer a replacement.

If they dont have any orders they are just sitting in the break room doing nothing.

One of the people I know works for Amazon as an area manager. Hes basically in charge of Amazons Whole Foods online ordering for a couple of stores. He said Amazon pays the in store shoppers between $17.50 and $20.90 depending on how long theyve been doing it. All those shoppers do is stock the products in bags and drivers deliver them.

Imagine paying someone $20.90 for a job that requires 0 skill sets and require no degree.

thats not night shift. I used to work from 11 at night until 7:30 in the morning at one point. This is an actual night shift.
