I teach in a title 1 school, and this is true, teachers are often left to their own devices. However, the criticism against crt is primarily that public schools curriculums across the country are indoctrinating kids with the idea that white people are evil, and that isn't true. For every teacher that makes crt the center of each of their classes I could find you one that replaces crt with religion or reverence for a political party.
